Yes, but a repeat is not as good as a premiere is it?

Step Brothers starring the brilliant Will Ferrell premieres tonight at 9 on Channel 5, or at 10 if you prefer over on C5+1 (Freeview 44).

ITV and Channel 4 are trotting out the same tired old films that they have already shown multiple times, it's like they couldn't give a toss.
Also, The Dark Knight is due to premiere in the UK anytime now, if not a good while ago. It has already been shown on TV 3 in Ireland and is being shown again on TG 4 in the next few days. I'm surprised ITV aren't showing it on Christmas Eve/Day or Boxing Day. I only seen one movie listed as being a premiere over Christmas on ITV 1 and that was another ruddy Harry Potter film. <yawn> |

As an indication I have created a list of films expected to premiere within the next year by channel, this list does not include indie films and those co-produced by BBC Films or Film 4 Productions as these skip the pay TV windows films usually have.
ITV have quite a few premieres to come, The Dark Knight, The Hangover, The Invention of Lying, Sherlock Holmes, Terminator: Salvation (possibly Channel 4), Yes Man, Invictus, Gran Torino, Rock'n'Rolla, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Get Smart, Inglorious B*******, Fast & Furious... something tells me it may be while before we actually get to see any of these though Where as Channel 4 have Paranormal Activity, up In The Air, I Love You Beth Cooper, Aliens In The Attic, All About Steve, Jenifer's Body, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Avatar, Alvin & The Chipmunks 2, Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past, My Sister's Keeper, The Time Traveler's Wife, The Final Destination, Bandslam, Sorioty Row, Wrong Turn 3, Twilight: New Moon, Push, Sex Drive, Channel 5 has over a years worth of Sony Pictures films left to show, including The House Bunny, Nick & Norah's Infinate Playlist, Seven Pounds, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Pink Panther 2, The International, Angels & Demons. Year One, The Ugly Truth, Funny People, July & Julia, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, This Is It, 2010, Did You Hear About The Morgans? [NOTE: Lists are highly likely to be wrong, and are based upon the assumption that films will recieve their TV premiere 2 years after theatrical release. Channel 5/Sony Pictures appear to be 3 years behind theatrical release whether this is an intentional decision by Channel 5 or not is unknown] |

There should be even more film premiers net year with 2012, Alice in Wonderland, Up, Toy Story 3, How to train you Dragon, Avater to name a few
BBC film premieres were not listed as they manage to get hold of them earlier than other channels for some reason (Monsters vs. Aliens should premiere next year, but we got it eary) which is why Alice In Wonderland, Up, Toy Story 3 (All Disney) and How To Train Your Dragon (Dreamworks Animation) were not listed. The BBC keep their films until christmas and broadcast them in a short burst, so we're unlikely to miss any Avatar is listed on Channel 4 2012 is on the Channel 5 list, but I accidentally mistyped it as 2010

(500) Days of Summer - C4 - 08/01/2012 - 21:00 Starring: Zooey Deschannel, Joseph Gordon Levitt Director Marc Webb 87% Rotten Tomatoes Quote:
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel star in director Marc Webb's wry, nonlinear romantic comedy about a man who falls head over heels for a woman who doesn't believe in love. Tom (Gordon-Levitt) is an aspiring architect who currently earns his living as a greeting card writer. Upon encountering his boss' beautiful new secretary, Summer (Deschanel), Tom discovers that the pair have plenty in common despite the fact that she's seemingly out of his league; for starters, they both love the Smiths, and they're both fans of surrealist artist Magritte. Before long Tom is smitten. All he can think about is Summer. Tom believes deeply in the concept of soul mates, and he's finally found his. Unfortunately for Tom, Summer sees true love as the stuff of fairy tales, and isn't looking for romance. Undaunted and undeterred by his breezy lover's casual stance on relationships, Tom summons all of his might and courage to pursue Summer and convince her that their love is real.

Oooooh, we have some great premieres coming next year! However, is anyone else disappointed with the way the BBC treat their movies? They have so many good movies but hardly ever show them! They could show stuff like Toy story, finding nemo, monsters inc etc on sunday afternoons when there is nothing exciting in the schedules and could get decent ratings. But they don't. They get huge movies, show them once or twice at christmas and forget all about them!

Terminator Salvation will likely be on Channel 5 since Sony Pictures had international rights.

Yes, it's repeated on Film4 on January 2nd at 21:00 and again the next week but I can't remember when
![]() Although I'm still pissed with the BBC for not repeating some of the earlier Pixar movies ever! They could show some good films on weekends, for kids who don't have sky movies, it would be a great treat! Why, oh why do they only show movies at Xmas/NY? |
