I wonder what premieres we will get over Christmas.

I know it's not how it use to be with all the extra pay TV channels, internet based services etc. but I am hoping for one or two real gems in the mix.

With maybe a few old black and white classics given an airing as well.

I think that BBC One's big movie will be Kung Fu Panda 2. I know Toy Story 3 is bigger, but there is a chance that it will be on ITV. I also think that Megamind, Rango, Puss in Boots will premiere!!

Rango is a Paramount so will probably end up on CH4.

Could BBC1 break the animation tradition and show "Cowboys and Aliens" over Christmas? Could that be the big movie?

(IMO) that film is absolute guff - almost as bad as Asylum's cheap rip off "Cowboys And Zombies" !

What you doing in here? This isn't The Ratings Thread room you know - next door along for you...

LOL - only kidding - you're very welcome...

Oh ok, I don't know why I assumed Paramount was BBC! But I'm pretty sure Kung Fu Panda 2 will be the big film

Paramount distributed DreamWorks and DreamWorks Animation films, as well as the Paramount distributed Indiana Jones series, are shown on the BBC. So your confusion is understandable.

But Rango was done by Paramount's internal animation team, set up (I think) after the success of The Spongebob Squarepants Movie...

It's quite a strong 12 (it got a 15 in Ireland), they'd probably only show it post-watershed...
