Channel 5's 21 Jump Street has moved to 18 May at 22:00-24:15.
I figured it would move. It seems like an incredibly quick premiere for C5, they're probably trying to get it in in time for the release of 22 Jump Street...

2 years, 2 months and 2 days after its UK cinematic release.

Channel 5 generally do three or four years after theatrical release though. I'm guessing this is a film specific or few film package deal, since the film was co-financed by MGM after they went into their "television rights management" phase (that and Sony Pictures premières appear to be on Channel 4 these days)...

I also wonder if it has something to do with the fact that 21 Jump Street was on Netflix rather than Sky Movies. As I think it was the same time scale with The Expendables which was also on Netflix rather than Sky Movies first so maybe they have a shorter time scale for showing films than Sky Movies

X-Men First Class (2011), Saturday 17th May, 9.00pm-11.35pm, Channel 4
The Dark Knight (2008), Saturday 32nd May, 11.30am-3.00pm, ITV5

Only one of these is a genuine premiere, guess which.
What do I win? There probably will be an ITV5 by the time The Dark Knight gets to air. Maybe there will even be 32 days in a month.

I wasn't trying to contradict, I agree it's a short time.

Unsurprising, C4's première of Kick-Ass, had an advert for Kick-Ass 2 every ad break. I think Kick-Ass 2 didn't come out until a month or so later...

It wasn't just adverts though it had proper "21 Jump Street sponsored by 22 Jump Street voiceover" probably with pun intended.

You'll notice a lot of films première just before the sequel, like Fox with X-Men: First Class from this past weekend. I wonder if the studios encourage this practice or whether networks do it of their own volition, probably 50/50.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011),Saturday 31st May, 9.00pm-10.50pm, Channel 4
The Change-Up (2011), Sunday 1st June, 10.05pm-12.20am, Channel 4
Feast of Love (2007)*, Wednesday 4th June, 1.05am-2.50am, Film4 (Tues night/Weds morn)
Junkhearts (2011)**, Friday 6th June, 11.05pm-12.35am, BBC2

* This is listed as a Film4 premiere, so it might not be an actual terrestrial premiere, from the looks of the cast I'm guessing not, but who knows, feel free to correct.
**This might not be a premiere, it's just an estimation

On another note, ITV are airing Quantum of Solace on June 1st, so no one should expect Skyfall yet because Sky still show it.

I'd agree with that. The mutual promotion works for both parties. I expect special dispensation has to be sought in the case of a film like 21 Jump Street which is only two years old.

Was it in 2.35:1, or cropped?

Still time to re-run them all again before they show that overhyped pile of crap.

I've been waiting for The Hunger Games. I'm guessing that Netflix had the rights as i saw it listed there and it never appeared on Sky Movies (although it was available through sky store confusingly)?

Sky never showed it? Odd, although that is the case with some movies.

As I understand it Lionsgate did a deal with Netflix instead of Sky Movies, so Lionsgate films (like The Hunger Games) will do a run on Netflix instead of appearing on Sky Movies. I'm guessing Sky Store will be a separate contract.
