Shame is a great movie also. Hope they don't edit it to pieces in order for it to be shown on terrestrial TV.

Cabin in the Woods is tedious as hell for the first 40 minutes, but then picks up instantly. I know they were trying to satirise such films with that, but it comes across as a carbon copy and can be easily skipped second time round.
Not on C4 at 10pm. |

They cut one scene from Masters of Sex at 9PM, but it was moved into a 10PM timeslot for the next episode, so they could air it uncut. (It sounded like the compliance team tried to get a 10PM slot, but it wasn't available)...

There is a film on Movie Mix at 9pm tonight with Greg Kinnear called Flash Of Genius about the man who invented intermittent windscreen wipers and his long battle with the car companies who used his invention without his permission or paying him. It sounds interesting. Has anyone seen it and is it worth watching?

Coming up to Christmas I expect films like Brave (2012) and maybe Les Miserables (2013) being aired although I would expect Les Miserables being a new year premiere.

Brave won't be until next year at the earliest, same with Les Mis.
War Horse is an odd choice of premiere given Christmas is coming up, maybe BBC have the Avengers films lined up or something big. |

On the Road last night seems to have been the full length version premiered at Cannes rather than the shorter version that was released commercially.

I think the reason they are showing War Horse is because they have been putting out quite a bit of stuff re WW1 over the last while, makes sense for them to continue that when it's fresh in folks minds - and a Sunday evening should be a good slot for it.

OK so schedules are being kinder now with Christmas approaching, so more idea of what films are in channels in coming weeks, wish it was like this all year round, if Sky can plan ahead why can't terrestrial channels, secondly if i'm not sure if a film is a premiere, it's marked with NS, if a foreign language film, i'll mark the country of origin next to the year like i've done previously, i'll also mark documentaries, anyway...
War Horse is on until 10.15pm Channel 4 Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani (India, 2013), Monday night/Tues morning 17th/18th November, 12.50am-3.30am NS - Raiders From Beneath The Sea (1964), Monday night/Tues morning 17th/18th November, 3.30am-4.45am English Vinglish (2012), Weds night/Thurs morning 19th/20th November, 1.25am-3.40am Lawless (2012), Saturday 22nd November, 10pm-12.20am The Square Circle (India, 1996), Monday night/Tues morning 24th/25th November, 1.20am-3.15am NS - Waitress (2007), Weds night/Thurs morning, 26th/27th November, 1.30am-3.15am Channel 5 Conan the Barbarian (2011), Sunday 16th November, 10pm-12.15am The Green Hornet (2011), Sunday 23rd November, 9pm-11.25pm Film4 - These listed Czech Republic made films are all from the same director if anyone's fussed.
