I will be interested to see the version of Great Expectations, although in my experience nothing comes close the the 1946 David Lean production.

Why does Channel 4 keep putting on good modern movies at 2am in the morning, midweek?

Tonight "Fair Game" 2010, I'm guessing this is a premier but could be wrong.

Actually these broadcasts are good, because there's less commerical breaks, and they're much shorter.

Be on lookout, Niko Bellic is inactive again, I'm guessing he's "James Bond 007" now.

Would a film that's first premiered on Film4 and that channel can be viewed on Freeview and Freesat still be called a premiere when it gets shown at a later point on Ch4?

not a premiere, but Babette's Feast on film4 at 11am tomorrow, apr 30. Not seen this on fta tv in maybe 15 years. One of the best 80s films, well worth catching. Subtitled but don't let that put you off ..... It's sorta an arthouse classy version of food porn ....... won both oscar and bafta for best foreign film ....... 96% score at rotten tomatoes .....

Some movie rights must be moving around. If it's Sony it makes sense as ITV have some Sony studios movies now.

Which Sony films have they shown? Because The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and 21 Jump Street are MGM co-productions, and ITV also has The Hobbit. Perhaps if there aren't any other Sony films we could infer an MGM deal?

The Smurfs and Hotel Transylvania were Sony only but my guess is that MGM has done a deal with ITV but Hansel and Gretel which was Paramount/MGM debuted on Channel 5 so perhaps it's a shared deal for certain films. Will be interesting where GI Joe Retaliation and Carrie end up. Robocop is an interesting one because it was distributed by Studiocanal in the UK but MGM has international television rights.

I'd guess C4 for Robocop & Carrie , With ITV taking GI Joe Retaliation
