Fair enough, I wasn't sure there had been any Sony-only premieres.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the RoboCop deal is a 20 year deal, covering several platforms, including TV:
Quote:
“Studiocanal will release the new version of the sci-fi action classic from director José Padilha theatrically and across other platforms, including video, VOD and television, but, as the group added, “with certain limited exceptions.””

So that could really mean anything...

Two Paramount titles appearing on Channel 4 although GI Joe is Paramount/MGM, would have thought with the Viacom ownership, Channel 5 might be the natural home for Paramount films. Shutter Island was released in 2010 so five years to debut on terrestrial television.

So ITV must have a Sony deal as now The Amazing Spider-Man turns up as a premiere. And I was beginning to think that we'd never see Shutter Island. So that must mean Channel 4 has a Paramount deal.

This is so confusing!!

Damnit Kieran Seymour, I was waiting to post something worthwhile

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Saturday 30th May, 8.30pm-11.10pm, ITV
Shutter Island (2010), Sunday 31st May, 9.00-11.40pm, Channel 4

Buried which is a film with Ryan Reynolds was repeated on ITV4 ad nauseum has moved to BBC1 for an upcoming showing for some reason.

It's funny, we got the first round of Spidey films on Channel 5, the remakes on ITV, the second remake will likely end up on BBC1, who knows.

Look on the bright side - I may have posted those first, but I'm so far behind in actually watching movies at the moment that I only got around to Prometheus last night, and that was a random choice from the middle of the PVR recordings.

It's all Horror's fault. Ever since they've been on Freeview, I've suddenly had access to more movies that I haven't seen before than I know what to do with!

I should have made it more clear that GI Joe is no longer broadcast on this day, it's why I didn't include it, in the past I've mentioned cancellations, so yeah, my fault.

Film Four listing in the Daily Mail TV magazine has tonight's showing of the Evil Dead remake listed as a premiere. Film Four premiere, maybe, terrestrial, no, as it was on C4 several weeks ago.

The C4 broadcast was some weird extended edition nobody quite knew existed, this will apparently be the first time the correct theatrical version has been broadcast in the UK...

BBC4 tonight 9pm - We Need To Talk About Kevin. I don't recall that being shown before.

I remember reading on here at the time that C4 have no plans to show the extended version any more, which is a shame as I would watch it. The cinema version isn't brilliant, but it's worth a look. Either way, there's a great post-credits scene which I will NOT spoil here.

Even IMDB held back simply stating: "There is a short scene after the credits".

Not quite sounding the death knell for this thread (or is it? ) , but just came across this tonight - are we aware of it?!

http://nextfilm.co.uk/premiere.php

Not sure how accurate it is with regard to some of the C5 entries but there we go...
