Humax HDR 'no signal'Problem
The Skyman
30-08-2011
I would be pleased if anyone has any ideas as.....

i went to upgrade a client this morning from a Bush Freesat HD to a Humax HDR. fitted the extra cable and checked both cables were working on the existing Bush Box (as well as my Wolsey Meter).
Unpacked the Brand New & 'sealed' Humax , plugged it in and it would not find any signal. tried rebooting multiple times, tried a few factory resets, swapped the cables, re-checked that they worked on the Bush.....all to no avail... it would not find any signal to progress thru the set up menu etc....
anyone any other conclusion than the Unit is ' Kn*****ckerd
Thanks

Did you go into the manual tune option and check a few transponders to see if there is any reception ? If the box can't get the EB1 freesat home transponder you won't get past the postcode validation setup.

i didn't, but there was very good reception and the Bush HD box was working correctly. the Humax box just would not find any signal at the first set up page, before the postcode.... ( it did accept the postcode most of the time that we were entering in the vain hope that the box might spark into life..
i have set up these in the past with no trouble and it is a dish that has been up for more than a year without any problems...
thanks for your thoughts.
cheers

It sure sounds like it's faulty.
