I agree with what you say about the word "confidence". Matt's voice goes down on this word intentionallly to make it stand out from the rest of the line and we already know that Matt very much relates to the lyrics of this song.


I love seeing tweets from the people who have heard some tracks from the album. It sounds like its going down very well and makes me want to hear the whole album now. Almost another six weeks seems so long to wait. I wonder if we'll be able to hear any other tracks from the album before the gigs Matt has lined up.

I think the thing is it depends on expectations. When I heard he was releasing a Barlow cover I was furious because I don't think he should be doing that and the only TT stuff I like tends to be Robbie's so my expectations were very low indeed. But, whilst I totally stand by my views on whether he should have done the song or not, it is way better than I expected (I am a bit of a sucker for a big power ballad tbh), so I'm happy with it. The decision to release it is made so I'm judging the song only on it's merits rather than comparing it to his previous stuff. That said I will be astonished if I don't ultimately like half a dozen songs on the album more than RFYL.



My ears are bleeding. Whatever you think of Matt, he can really sing - it's like trying to do a Whitney Houston song - just don't unless you have an amazing voice.


Thankfully whatever happens with radio 1, most music listens are to commercial radio (especially for over 20s). SJ got played by radio 1 but commercial radio didn't pick it up which is part of the reason it didn't have much in the way of legs (part of the reason) So long as the big commercial stations play it - he'll be fine - and didn't someone say radio 2 had played it?
