It says that Ken Bruce and Alex Lester will play RFYL every day this week

Ken Bruce is on in the mornings and Mark Lester is on during the early hours of the morning.

It does say on the Radio 2 playlist page that records have to be within 4 weeks of being released to get on the playlist - which RFYL isn't quite yet

ETA Hmph. Maybe they do

:

'The playlist tries to balance tracks that are already released and available, with brand new tracks you haven't heard before. Normally new tracks will be added to the playlist 3 or 4 weeks before they are released and introduced slowly at a lower rotation.'

Still think they're too focussed on their image though so it'll have to gain momentum through R2 and the independent stations to be deigned worthy.

I was surprised to see the figure still on 99 today. I'll check later to see if it changes. If Ken Bruce played it this morning then it should at the very least be on 100 today and its not.

If you click on the Matt Cardle link on the radio 2 page it takes you to a page which gives his last play as Monday - don't know if it just isn't updated. It also says WWC was played on a show about one hit wonders

I think there are several posts on here which say it was played now I don't know if they are radio station or not as I don't listen to them at all I would rather see him on TV. Iknow he needs airtime and I am rather interested that Radio 2 won't put them on the list until 4 wks before release. If RFYL is going to be release on 9-10th of October then it will be four weeks tomorrow.

Denj the four weeks mentioned is possible going to be counted from tomorrow. Who knows .................I feel like starting a Matt Radio station LOL

It wont be as bad as the bloody show every week though. Actually I am reasonably confident about the commercial performance of the single and the album in the first weeks. I think he still does have massive support. After that it will depend on whether he has some proper tunes on the rest of the album. My personal paranoia is with the production- my tastes are totally out of sympathy with current producers. For me less is more. For them it seems, more is more.

It is possible that it will be a commercial smash and I will still end up not liking it so much. But one things for sure- we can guarantee the actual singing will be great.

I've just checked Ken Bruce and Alex L music played and they are listing record of the week as something called evevators and they played that. It's a song out on Columbia records the week Before Matts. That's what was showing up when I looked at R2 playlist earlier today. Think it's been changed and I reckon that's next weeks but the dates not been changed. I think Matt will be all next week and hopefully added To the liist the week after. We need to give them feedback when they do play it.

I agree we have to give feedback for sure. I suppose the 4 week rule means its got time to gain momentum which means the anti-XF-posing channels have to consider it at least. The vids featured on alot of radio websites looking for reaction eg:

Capital have a page too but they're Global radio & alot of politics going on there as Joe fans have pointed out. They playlisted 1D but theyre looking for the teen audience so they couldnt avoid it I suspect.

Matt definitely won't be a one hit wonder once RFYL is released

I don't think anything will be quite so stressful as watching Matt perform every week and in particular the results shows. I think you're going to much prefer hearing Matt singing RFYL live rather than the recorded version. I have a feeling sung live it will be special

I believe Matt said in one of his interviews that at least some of the tracks are stripped back - they couldn't be any more stripped back unless he did them acapella! Hopefully you've ordered the Deluxe version of the album which has 5 acoustic versions of tracks - 4 that are on main album + a new one.

On my way home yesterday, I listened to RFYL on repeat - journey takes just over an hour so that's probably 20 consecutive repeats!! Today, I had my usual playlist - selected XF performances with the added addition of RFYL (followed by 7S and Darwyn). I have to say it fitted in really well with the XF perfomances so I'm confident it will please those who only know Matt from XF - a very strong 'bridge'.

It is loved out there I went onto one of the links that liz has provided above listened to RFYL and the clicked on comments and wow the positive comments on there is unbelievable. They abosolutely love the song yeah. I am so pleased that Matt is moving and not staying in one place musically he needs to feed that musical energy and he is with this song and of course will have done so with the album. Way to go Matt brilliant song and the album will be utterly fabulous.

No JC you are not think LOL I don't know where you would go to view the webcam again. Unless Radio 1 have it stored and its there for you to access.
