Evening my lovely Cardlettes!! how are we?? Man I don't get to frequent here as often as I can at all....my routine is all over the place, but suffice to say I'm out working, socialising, or soaking up fresh air & family as often as possible until the dark & cold winter again But by then, at least I'll have LETTERS to keep me sane & smiling...& all you gang to keep me laughing & happy also yay!!

Re Bleeding Love. My heart sank like a brick when I found out he was singing this - I thought it was very unfair to put him in a position where he would inevitably be compared to a previous winner. He looked tortured while he sang it, and I really dislike the song, but it was actually a great vocal.

Morning,hopefully my laptop will work better today.I see theres a bit about matts new vid in New magazine on twitter,the bit at the end caught my eye "To be honest we just to see the ruggedly good looking matt back on our screens and his angelic voice to soothe us after a hard day.Its been too long."

Morning all Bit behind with the "show" but HMBOMT was next wasnt it? Anyhows, was sat keen as ever wanting to hear him sing and there he was with a guitar.....umm I thought, diff for xf and yes, I clocked the fine knitt and the fit of same - I'm only human, then off we went and again it just pulled me in, never really listened to the words before at all (I dont think many get past the image of Britney in her school outfit) but seen somewhere that it was originally written for a bloke to sing. By the end was clapping WOW that was just brill! BL was nervous about this one, such a big song and I thought its sink or swim time matey. You could feel the nerves and he got into a bit of muddle in the middle for me but bless, fought his way thro it and as you say the 2nd 1/2 was all him, god those ending vocals, just sublime. I think with more time to organise it etc he would have felt better about things but you could see how deflated he was, all over his face at the end. Ok, I've now vented

Morning Pie Before I go I just wanted to say that I was feeling exactly the same as you about HMBOMT and Bleeding Love. I remember being so excited when we found out on here that Matt would be performing with his guitar and thought he was going to perform a different version of the song. Bleeding Love was a very nervous week here knowing he had a lot to live up to and fearing what Simon would say about the performance. As it turned out he wasn't nearly as bad with his comments as I thought he would be!!

I am really off now

Hadnt found you guys until NIWS week but I can imagine the manic postings!! Simon was fairly restrained with his comments, could have been sooo much more nasty.

Re BL it the one i don't listen to much. It still makes me uncomfortable as I could see how uncomfortable he was .

I agree the vocals were great, but I really dislike this song, whoever sings it. When Matt performed it and got the criticism, I predicted that he'd probably sing First Time (Ever I saw Your Face) the following week because he felt he'd done badly and needed to pull something spectacular out of the hat. I believe he thought he was singing for survival in the contest. Wrong, of course, but what a treat we got thanks to Bleeding Love lol.

Great Marathon last night unfortunately I had to retire early. Lovely hope we continue with it today...................the memories.

Yes, I very much felt that First Time was almost the consolation for having to do Bleeding Love (or Bleeding Guff, as I prefer to call it). They really did put him through the wringer on that programme.
