We are all hoping that Matt will be very successful and share your views that he is so talented. Matt has such a wide fanbase that its hard to compare his YT count to that of 1D and Cher. I do get fed up reading about how well the others have done and that Matt has been forgotten but Matt is only now starting to get promoted so we shouldn't really take any notice of these comments. It does really annoy me when I read that 1D and Cher have had more money spent on them than Matt.

I have to go to bed though I am tired.

i agree with what matt said in his radio 1 interview about it being a free for all, he was the winner but yet cher who came fourth is already out there with a number 1 and 1D getting promo on xfactor the other night. i get the labels goal is to make as much money as they can but i can understand how matt feels about the situation

YT hits are irrelevant and has been said their is no correlation at all between the hits SJ has and the single sales.

That said we should also remember that it's the summer holidays and most of Cher and 1Ds fans are off school all day with nothing better to do than watch videos on YT, whereas most of Matt's fans will be at work. This really came home to me yesterday cos I watched the clip over and over again which I'd never have had time to do if I was not still on leave. On Monday I'll probably watch it a couple of times, make and MP3 for my ipod and not watch it again, whereas my kids like to watch the video probably more than listen to the song.

i do not watch may music videos,,soo not an expert..it seems to me that unless you invest loads of money..which they only do with really established artist..they are much of a muchness.
the problem I have with it is that because i have
watched matt for months looking at every pic learning about him through this forum..it is almost like watching a good friend in something like that...you just want to cover your eyes because it almost cringe worthy..you have a pic stuck in your head and anything they do on film does not cut it
either that.. or its a "s++t video...

Oh yes - agree so much with this - wasn't until I listened exactly like that to RFYL that I got over/am getting over my initial disappointment with the song.

It annoyed me too. If the losers are getting that kind of cash input, Matt should too. But it doesn't matter really. 1D were pretty dire - they needed every penny of that money and they have to give a quick return as boybands tend to fade fast unless they're really special.. Cher was better, but needed to improveand may also fade quickly. Matt arrived fully formed and perfect, He's in this for the long haul and will make the absolute most of the budget he has.,

Not only that, but Mary and Katie already have albums out! And now Belle Amie's got a single coming out as well.

Meanwhile Rebecca will be the last one to have her album released.

I'm choosing to think that with Matt and Rebecca, they're taking their time to record quality albums instead of rushed crap. I'd rather wait longer for an incredible album than one that only took 2 months to write and record.

Cher's song is utter crap, IMO. And I liked Cher. I was looking forward to hearing her album. But after that single? I'm not so sure anymore.

1D are exactly like I figured they'd be. Catchy pop to draw in the teenyboppers. And I have to admit, that song is extremely catchy and I like it much better than Cher's song.


I've only listened/watched the RFYL clip once, when I watched the BBC interview. It's not that I didn't like it or anything. But I want to watch the whole thing first before I decide if I love the song and video. I will say I love his vocals so far, going by that snippet. And on that alone, I'm sure I'll love the song as a whole.

To me, Matt's just one of those people who could sing the crappiest song out there, because I just love listening to his voice. Kinda like the saying that you'd be willing to listen to someone recite the phone book if they have an incredible speaking voice.

But I need to hear the whole song first to see if I love the actual song or not. I liked the bit I heard. As for the video itself, I'm not sure yet. Matt looked good, definitely. I just need to see the whole video.

I picked up a couple of quotes yesterday on a training course that somehow made me think of all of us here on the thread, with our differing viewpoints, but same common purpose of loving the Cardle:

I think we are all very coherent in supporting Matt, and it is the disequilibrium (but not conflict) about different issues that has probably kept this thread going for so long.

On the other hand it could be a load of soundbite b*llocks, but it appealed to me.

I tweeted these people about whether they had videoed their interview with Matt yesterday.

Keenly waiting to hear the rest of this GB song but very keen to hear the remaining tracks.

Can anyone update me on the following:-
Why is there a month to wait from his single being played over the radio and us being able to purchase the album? Are they doing more tweeking ?

2nd question:-
What is the latest news of the band he will be playing with?
