So may have lost to ASFF. The Celebrity Masterchef effect.

Not too late to drop the cookery programme next Saturday, BBC1. I believe you still have a few unseen episodes of Don't Scare The Hare on the shelf.

All excluding HD, and we know HD brings an extra ~1m means I think X Factor's peak is near to 14 million for the first time this series - and it will probably be the most watched auditions ever. Wow.

If it is near 14 million, then tonight's rating could well be interesting, especially with Downton Abbey straight after. And then we thought X Factor couldn't increase on last year...

I think he might be mistaken. I can't believe it would exclude HD based on how it's been doing in previous weeks. If it does exclude HD, that's a very impressive rating for TXF.

RandomPoster- I'm not sure at the moment if it includes or excludes +1.

We should get more figures soon.

Looking at what he reported last week, I think you maybe right rzt: http://twitter.com/#!/ChristPA/statu...14759241457664

However, if Doctor Who was down, that suggests an ITV boost of some proportion.

Figures include HD, but not +1:

Celebrity MasterChef: 2.7m
Doctor Who: 5.2m (23.8%)

All Star Family Fortunes: 5.3m
The X Factor: 10.8m

Also, Match of the Day peaked with 4.5m yesterday.

So 11.1m (45.7%) and 12.4m peak all include +1/HD for X Factor, very solid rating for it. No matter what though, seeing All Star Family Fortunes beat Doctor Who is disappointing. Yeah, Who will get the lead back in the officials, but seeing that is plain disappointing in my opinion.

Woeful performance from Big Brother - I wonder if it will sink any further before the end of its run.

As it is only just over a week into a 9 week run, we could be looking at non-eviction night ratings of 0.7 or even 0.6 at this rate!

Dr Who is really isolated between a Celeb Masterchef and a dreary Nat Lot gameshow, it's like the art of scheduling has passed them by at the BBC.

Contrast with ITV from 6pm:

New You've Been Framed! / All Star Family Fortunes /The X Factor / The Jonathan Ross Show:

Light entertainment all the way, a bit low-end of course but still... it works.

It would be more disappointing if it were because people were watching Family Fortunes rather than switching on for The X Factor in the final 15 minutes and inflating the average. Still its disappointing that Who's overnights remain so low (relative to its final and total reach numbers)

EDIT - Do those Family Fortune numbers include +1?

Although if you remove The X Factor from that line-up that ITV line-up doesn't look so good. So its less the art of scheduling and more the art of having one giant hit that can drag the rest of your schedule up.

Disappointing rating for Doctor Who last night. That's its 5th lowest overnight rating since the revival in 2005. I could understand if it had fallen that low against something like BGT or football, but against ASFF I do expect it to rate better than that. I suppose it'll timeshift a lot, but a c.7m official rating will still be relatively low compared to how episodes have usually done in the last few years. It wasn't a great night for BBC1 with fillers in their schedule like Celebrity MasterChef and Live at the Apollo. At the moment, they're just gearing up for a couple of weeks' time when SCD and Merlin return which will give them a massive boost. Casualty, in fairness, was a bit higher than usual when partly up against XF.

Good stuff for All Star Family Fortunes. It's obviously benefitting from airing in that pre-XF slot, but it's certainly one of the higher rated game shows ITV have anyway. They do about 11 episodes of it per year, I do think they could extend that to something like 18 and use it to plug the gaps where they usually find it difficult (such as summer) as I think it could get a decent audience (4m) even without TXF. The X Factor, once again, really solid - on a par with the rating it had on the same night last year and it's been very consistent around the same 11m (inc +1) mark so far this series. That's an important rebound for JR after last week's poor rating and similar to how Piers Morgan's first episode last year post XF rated.

As for C5, there was much less hype about the boxing this time and competition was tougher than the last fight, but 1m is still quite low. It didn't help matters that the fight finished quite early and there were some technical issues. As for BB, that really is a very poor rating for it, and on Saturdays it's got to the stage where it's rating worse than how Law and Order: SVU was doing in that slot previously. I'm a bit optimistic that it can rate higher next Saturday though, as usually programmes airing after football/boxing rate lower than normal, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it nudge back over 1m next Saturday. But something really needs to be done to get people back watching again- whether it's a big twist or just loads of promotion/stories on C5 and Richard Desmond's newspapers/magazines.

Nope, none of those ratings include +1 . I suspect with +1, it would've been at 5.4/5.5m.

A poor rating for Doctor Who no two ways about it. And Celebrity Masterchef on a Saturday night. Really? Good grief. The X Factor is huge and ITV will have a very good night tonight.

As DW seems to lead the way as regards the audience's propensity to utilise timeshifts and iPlayer, perhaps we should wait for the final figures before being too disappointed.

Excellent again for TXF. I assume it will be higher tonight especially with DA starting, but I guess you never know as it rated worse last Sunday. I will be shocked if it doesn't rate better thought. Maybe about 11.5m (inc. +1). It does seem very stable though so far. As for DW that's very disappointing. It seems to be doing worse since the break and this time it does have a better slot too. It's very odd. I know it will timeshift well, but even so ~7m isn't that great tbh. I would be nice to see it rate higher in the overnights. Also 0.9m for BB. Just awful really, No one can put a good spin on that! As I said yesterday next week is going to be interesting for the show.
