I don't understand why channels do comedy pilots, to be honest - its hard for a comedy nowadays to be fantastic straight out the blocks when there's only 23 minutes to work with excluding adverts. People are not going to watch 23 minutes of comedy when there's no follow up. By the time its started, it is all over again.
It's not like a drama when you can have a 90 minute drama (or ~67 minutes without adverts), allowing people to get into the characters and into the show, get good ratings and a recommission.
Drama pilots yes, comedy pilots no.
