BB is on a very thin thread at the moment, the nearer the regular series gets, the angrier the fans become. All over Twitter they are already planning chaos on the launch for the fight for Live Feed.

How the hell are 16 nobodies going to be seen as interesting with only 45 mins of edited HLs a day.

Well the vast majority of viewers have only ever seen 45 mins of HL's a day and they have seemed to cope fine.

I kind of figured they'd show it straight after the US but it's good to have it confirmed! I noticed them advertising the new series on E4 last night.

Shameless I don't think will be axed but I could see Series 9 getting its episode order cut. CSI: Miami was dented by the football and I think will be dented by The Body Farm next week.

Very good for the football which naturally dominated last night. BBC One had a reasonable night, getting off to a good start with the boosted One Show though with EE and Holby obviously taking a hit.

I'd be a bit concerned about Shameless if I were Channel 4, to be honest. I can't help but think that after nearly a decade, they've really overcooked it with the super-length seasons - and its a much bigger problem than it should be because the channel has so conspicuously failed to breed any replacement returning dramas.


Not sure about that. If anything, I'd think that would imply the opposite. Not sure why Danny Cohen would cut down a strongly performing staple just to replace its lost hours with something so similar.

But now the public's interest is waning though the last fewy ears, they need the more publicity as possible. Maybe LF would not have been a problem back in BB1-BB5. But have you seen the BB forum? It's practically empty, when during BB11 it was very full and crashed every eviction night, something that did not happen in BB10 or this series of CBB.

For example, if there was a massive fight, no one would know unless they visited the Five site. During the night of Fight Night in BB5, everyone was watching the LF, which caused around a 2m increase from that night to the next night, as word of mouth spread.

If there was a fight here, how would we know? They could never show it.

6.52m over 3 hours for the football is good for ITV. The match peak is as expected just below 9m at 8.93m. When can we expect the demos?
I always love the foootball for the adverts (sad I know) that you normally dont see. The Gears of War 3 Trailer last night was amazing.

Very good for The One Show. I feel that its rating boost is down to both Strictly and the lack of Emmerdale on ITV. Holby also held up very weel.

The problem with live feed is that there isn't anywhere for Channel 5 as they lease Supercasino midnight-4am and 5* finishes at 12am.

Salv* I think you are right, they could be in for a massive ratings collapse over the next few weeks. It's fair to say that the show is not BB anymore. It is completely scripted and setup, and not in a good way. It may as well be Geordie shore or something, because there's no benefit from the expensive house when it's unlive and mostly a setup.

Excellent for the football on ITV1 last night with a great peak too. EE held up OK against it, but I'm fairly sure in the past it's held up slightly better than that. Very low for Shameless, but I can't say I'm surprised. It was a very poor episode IMO. I've seen every series of Shameless and this is by far the worst. I don't think it helps that hardly any of the original cast are left and the new cast just isn't up to scratch. The 22-episode run can't have helped either. I thought dividing it into 2 sections was quite a good idea, but the first two episodes haven't rated well at all.

I always figured this show would fail, but wow

I dont mean this in a "look at Charnham taking pleasure in a ITV / Syco failure way" I mean it in a "Epic Fail" type way.

Seems like a desperate attempt to garner interest in the show. I still think it will be back for another series. Cowell is such an ego, he will want another go at tweaking the format, before admitting defeat.

With Glee taking the Thursday 9PM slot, Sky have rather surprisingly moved An Idiot Abroad to Fridays at 9PM from September 23rd. Odd decision considering how well it did first time round. It joins the Comedy Friday line up of Modern Family, The Middle, The Simpsons etc.

Still no word on a launch date (or any promotion) for Terra Nova.

Not too surprising when Sky 1 have been building a "Comedy Friday" brand since January. It fits in perfectly with that idea.

I agree it makes sense from that point of view but none of the programmes on Comedy Friday rate that highly - they do well but don't hit the heights that An Idiot Abroad did. I imagine the timeshift will be rather large.

Doesn't this slightly undercut the 'anyone can win £1 million' theme of the show? Anyone can win £1 million as long as they pass our comprehensive background check doesn't quite have the same ring to it...


Presumably they're hoping that An Idiot Abroad will draw new viewers to the comedy Friday line-up. Makes sense to me.


I'd imagine a 'Simon Cowell press conference' attracts more press attention and therefore hype for the show than a simple Red or Black press conference. It seems like an odd decision though. Outside of the obvious plea for press coverage I'm not sure what the point of this press conference is either.

Perhaps they could have themed episodes like that other ITV1 juggernaut WWTBAM?

eg:

Red Or Black: Rioters' Special
Red Or Black: Wife Beaters' Special
Red Or Black: Rapists' Special

etc....

Or perhaps they could rebrand the show - eg, Black and Blue?

Or: Wife Beaters Win Prizes?

They could also do that for XF & BGT.
