With the exception of Village SOS, which dropped below 3 million, BBC One looks stable week on week. I think they won't be too concerned with Who Do You Think You Are, okay its dropped a bit from the 6 million levels, but its still a reliable hit for BBC One which can run for many years if necessary and I don't forsee it being axed. BBC Two seems stable too, if unspectacular, just in the high 1m's, no real standout there.
Solid rating for the Lewis repeat, about the only bright spot for ITV this Summer that they can rely on Lewis to bring in over 3 million when the rest of the schedule is falling around them, so I imagine Lewis repeats will stay. I did read by the way that Midsomer Murders has been recommissioned for a further two episodes, although they still have four episodes on the shelf which were filmed last Summer. They need to schedule them wisely, preferably without a gap in between, the last two ratings for original episodes were not fantastic, so I think a bit of care with scheduling is needed here, just to bring it back to the 5.5 million overnight range instead of the high 4 million's where it did drop to.
Onto Channel 4, and they'll be pleased with how last night rated, over 2 million even excluding +1 it seems. The 9/11 documentary gives me hope that tonight's documentary should draw alright for ITV so I doubt we will see a below 2 million scenario again for the channel. Channel 5 have themselves to blame regarding Big Brother's rating - have they continued to advertise on other channels since the series started? 2.4 million for an eviction is not a good number, even if on a different day. Should have been advertised more, in my opinion. JLC didn't rate well, I'm not sure why they carried on with him, unless that was the last episode for him under their current deal.
