The 'party line' might be homo friendly, but which party does the local councillor belong to who recently compared gay sex to bestiality ? Which party introduced Clause 28 and how many of those who voted for it are still in parliament ? How many Tories voted against equalising the age of consent ? Would a Tory government have introduced civil partmerships ? And there are links between some Tories and far-right religious nutjobs.

claus 28 is long gone and was a dark period for all, some labour folk supported it or it would have never gotten on the books dont forget that, and one councillor is not the entire party, plus i im pretty sure he was condemned for saying it, under the torys homosexuality was declassified as a mental illness i believe, im no fan of the torys but thats down to their economic stance over the years, on gay rights they have been pretty good compared to others over the years, so i would not be so quick to throw them all under a bus.
