Woohoo some of my semester one results are finally being given back to us! It's took 'em long enough!! Totally shocked though as I've managed to somehow get a first in the 50% essay of my double employment module So relieved to get that outta the way knowing I have a little lee way for the exam in summer! Bit miffed about my other mark though......a 69 (well in these circumstances anyway ) just sucks I think I'd rather be in the middle of the band than 1 mark off!

Geeky - finally got round to watching last weeks JD. I don't really have much of a liking for Samir but gosh that woman was a right pain to him... How does that work with eating before surgery? I know you don't but how can you die from it? I assume it'll be to do with whatever could be in your system and it effecting the drugs?

Can see what you mean with Lucy PP can't operate a car... losing a phone... oh gosh... I don't think her comments and 'jokes' are very appropriate... How can you not know how to park?!?!?! You learn during lessons!! I know he's probably not insured but I'm sure he could've just went and done it instead And a student under her watch... really....

Haha my brother and his gf are usually like that but she unintentionally had a lapse in judgement the other day! They've just literally finished the building/decorating stuff on their new house and got moved in yesterday so it's been rather hectic for them but while she was out all flustered at the weekend she bought a birthday card for him instead of a VDay one not realising Unfortunately the penny only dropped when he opened it! It's safe to say she won't live that one down for a while and made my day

Yeah, she really seemed to be the 'star' of last weeks ep for some reason which I was pleased about, though very little was shown of the others *cough* Ben *cough* (who also didn't even appear this week )! I hope he's included in an ep soon

It's probably best I don't think about PP! Those 'jokes' were extremely cringey as it was soo awkward trying to be all pally with the patients, especially as she was so incompetent!

She really showed what a useless feckwit she was when she couldn't even park her car....though I loved the commentary whilst she was parking about everyone else either getting the bus or cycling to work but how PP uses her Mercedes.... *followed by awkward silence while she attempts and fails miserably at parking* then showing she was literally like 2-3 feet away from the pavement, hopped out and just left it

As for the student with her that really was the blind leading the blind It was made worse when the patient said she had a fear of the needles and was given those two, neither of whom could get the bloody thing in!! She was like a pin cushion to them

Also I always thought you had placements from 2nd/3rd year of med school? I mean I have a friend who is at Edinburgh and has to... Surely they would've been round hospitals to help witness/broaden their skills... or am I just living in an world where I'd assume that'd happen. I mean would it not benefit students more to practice all the basics on real people rather than just dummies... I assume there is some sort of legislation that prevents them to practice on people or something before they officially graduate though...

Yeah, I suppose she at least knew the theory behind it, but I'd still prefer a doctor who can do the practical side of things anyday over one who was just excellent at spewing verbatim from a medical text the theory side of things That one really made me cringe...I imagine that would've been painful enough to begin with without her needing two attempts as the first cut didn't get deep enough!!

I was quite surprised to see Akai was the one who toured Japan....but he is growing on me each episode! It's like he's finally getting rid of the shyness and lightening up... Yeah, that's why I was shocked in the first episode when they said he was the youngest at only 22
I thought you like spent ages in medical school and other stuff too as all the other JD's seem to be around 25/26 so I'm not sure how Andy is there so young! Even last series they were all around 25 too so he must've been one of those really clever people who take all their like GCSE's/a-levels years before everyone else!

Not sure re: legislation but that guy who was with PP was only a 2nd year med student and he was allowed a go at that procedure thing with PP so I'm guessing if you're supervised etc under certain conditions that you are allowed to practice medicine (or at least certain minor things like taking bloods etc)...

Yup JD How do you know that or have I just like totally missed the part where they were telling us about Ameith (must admit this is highly likely as he isn't one of my fave's this serious so pretty meh whenever he's featured on it)!

See, now if they can do that, how come they seem to be so shit at doing the basics these qualified JD's... Surely they'd have some real experience if its about 5years (take it 3/4 from placements onwards) you'd expect them to be pretty capable to do these tasks, which I bet they do multiple times a day.
