Anyone know a good, cheap place to order some spare comic book bags and cardboard backings? Apart from my first two comics which came individually bagged and boarded (Action Comics 1 and Detective Comics 1) all my other comics have come in just one shared bag without any protective boards. As I intend to collect the first prints of my chosen 52 series comics, I want to protect them. All my comics have come from Forbidden Planet so why they being stingy on the bags and boards now anyways?
I get all my comics online from A Place In Space (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/a-place-in...id=p4340.i2559) and all their comics come in separate bags and boards. I think they do sell spares as well but I don't know for how much.

I really liked All Star Western. A good murder mystery well set up. Demon Knights was ok but a bit complicated. Short comic but multiple characters.
Yes, I enjoyed ASW too. I'll be buying that and Batman on a regular basis.

^ if you're so inclined you might like to check out the online comic shop I use - http://www.disposableheroes.co.uk

they have a pre-order system, which lets you order a couple of months worth of comics in ones go, and then does a weekly send out of whichever ones have come in during that weeks delivery.

Admittedly they don't use that cardboard super sturdy(?) parcel thing that a-place-in-space uses (iirc), but they do send things out in an A4 hard backed envelope (all bagged and boarded of course)

AND you might even find yourself saving a few pennies.

^You'll need to ensure your letterbox can take A4 envelopes otherwise you'll be making a possibly long trek to the delivery office.

Forbidden Planet use smaller envelopes than Disposible Heroes do if that's a issue, though they charge for postage.

^swings and roundabouts

some places let you set up a standing order thing, with direct debits, and send out your stash once a month in that fold out cardboard contraption thing. (but charge p+p)

while others let you pre-order upto 2 months in advance, and send them out weekly in that A4 cardboard backed envelope (but don't charge p+p)

^luckily or rather wisely, I invested in an eBay wiiiidddddeeeeee letterbox to replace the ohsothin one the council lumbered me (and the rest of my towerblockies) with, thus saving me the weekly trek t'delivery office.

For those who've already purchased the new 52, how much did they cost?

I'm new to comics so I don't know that they usually cost but a website has them priced at roughly about £2? Is this normal?

I believe I bought Batman: the killing joke for about £6 off Amazon so it seems a bit cheap.

^for November pre-orders at the disposablePLACE -> DC $2.99 comics are £2.05 and DC $3.99 ones are £2.50

The 52 #1s were near enough the same as that.

On Forbidden Planet, some of my New 52s were only £1.65 as pre-orders and the rest were £1.95. Hence why I've order ahead up to Issue 4 for the series I am collecting.

I've tried Batwoman, Wonder Woman and Legion:Origins (which I bought because OK Comics gave me a free Legion flight ring when I did!).

I've also got Justice League Dark to read.

I liked Batwoman, superb artwork, and nice story telling, although I think I might have to get hold of Batwoman Ellegy TPB to get some background.

The Legion title was great. Paul Levitz was always my favourite Legion scribe, and seeing him reinvent the story is wonderful. He keeps it true to the Legion I loved.

I loved Wonder Woman 2; the Empire Strikes Back ending was a bit cliche, buy apart from that it's really solid.

I am surprised by how violent the Bat books are these days; Detective Comics and Catwoman would have had the suggested for mature readers label on them if they'd been out 10 years ago methinks.

I use http://www.inter-comics.com/

I usually get new releases through before Saturday, they're well packed and protected, and the chap who runs the site has always been quick to reply to any queries I've had. You can only pay with Paypal, though, and postage cost is calculated based on the weight of the comics. I'd recommend the site, I've not had any trouble yet. My nearest comic shop is 50 minutes away by train, then another 10 minutes walking, so it's nice to be able to just have them sent by post.
Cheers for the plug fella Since the site revamp you can now pay by any credit or debit card and I also send out the comics in those sturdy cardboard envelopes (had a lot of damages due to the flimsy ones!).

Im currently re adding all the old stock so none of the Marvel/Indy back issues are on yet but most of the DC stock is (yeah a lot of the #1's have sold out im afraid)

Im open to any suggestions/changes etc if any of you have any?
