Pasta 2
Does anyone know where you can get a Pasta that looks like rice, I've been told it's good with salad. Looked around while out shopping but have not seen any as yet.

Orzo or risoni
The first one is Greek, the second is Italian. Best bet would be in their respective delicatessen. Some supermarkets will stock them. |

Asda used to do Orzo too and our Waitrose stocks the Merchant Gourmet orzo.

Silly question time, but when you cook pasta for a cold mixed salad, how do you stop the pasta going hard ? It is just a case of covering the dish with clingfilm, but do you wait until the pasta is cold ? Or should you mix in a dressing whilst its hot and leave it ?

Mix in the dressing when still hot. It will prevent it from sticking together plus the flavours of said dressing will be absorbed better.

Think I have seen it in Waitrose and Sainsburys. http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/sains...asta_300g.html
A few years ago M&S used to do a ready meal with it in but they don't anymore. |

Had a little look in Sainsbury's this afternoon and couldn't see it, but maybe the people of Croydon aren't quite ready for it yet!
On the subject of pasta, anyone know if it's possible to get wholewheat canneloni tubes - I assume it is but again, my big local Sainsbury's only had regular canneloni tubes! |

I saw some in Tesco this morning when I was in there for the tinned tomatoes offer posted by another member. It is in the Tesco Finest range, £1.59 for a 500g bag.

I've had problems finding orzo and other types of speciality pasta around here. You can only get the basics. Can't even find elbow macaroni or orecchiette etc.
They had orecchiette and conchiglie but still no standard macaroni. |
