Best episode of the series by a long shot, definitely seems to be a new injection of life which will hopefully mean one more series (though I certainly don't think they should do any more than that).
Although I agree with much of what was said, I think people were a bit harsh on the programme early on in the series, it was always going to take time to adjust to the children no longer being able to get away with being so 'random' as they grow up, however I rather like the way that we've seen the organic growth on-screen, most sitcoms aren't brave enough to experiment and are too afraid of losing viewers, but Outnumbered has always felt naturalistic in that respect as life is never as smooth as it usually seems on television.
There was less of the Ben-ranting which had started to grate, and when he did it was a side issue to the rest of the episode - perhaps earlier in the series it would have come down to his 'hilarious' talent contest performance - but now they seem to have realised that whilst they need to keep his personality, they can't afford to let him run-free with his ideas as he's at an age where that's starting to seem less realistic.
Angela definitely adds an edge to the tension, the series has definitely missed that conflict which runs through just about every family at was evident earlier in the show.
What I really like are the little touches that sometimes you don't notice until the second-time around, like the aforementioned sneeze and also a dozy Karen asking 'Why does families fight so much?' Children often make mistakes with speech/grammar but sometimes they come across as being 'perfect' on similar programmes - the best thing about Outnumbered is it's a relief to see an accurate portrayal of all of our strengths AND weaknesses instead of it being simply a family of fairy tales.
