My Family lasted 11 years, some good some bad, Outnumbered barely made it past 3, 4 so far being a tad 'iffy' ?

S11 of MF was rushed I think, recorded at the same time as 10 due to budget cuts and cast signed up for other projects, plus of course the BBC played them all out in a haphazard order

Fawlty Towers only did two series of six programmes so does that make it even worse?

Just watched Friday's episode and thought it was much better than last weeks. Although I do understand what some are saying in the it's starting to feel a bit different to the past series as the kids are getting older/self-aware etc.

I agree, it definitely feels different this series, but it's still laugh out loud funny which is the most important factor to me

It is less funny than previous series but as people have pointed out, that's what happens when the kids get older. I still think it's hilarious though, and loved this week's episode, particularly the Mum & Karen scenes.

They should have started the series with a two year old as well. Then that two year old would be ripe for the wee cute one and mum finds she is pregnant again so every four years od so they have another kid and we have a constant supply of wee tots

i thought it was good but it just gets a bit silly ie ben dishing up slop. there was a couple of times karen paused that was obvious she was thinking of something to say.

i still think it's a good show.

I thought this weeks episode was funny.

Karen annoys me a bit though. She was cute when she was little. but now she just seems like a spoiled brat in some ways.

Ben has been terrible this series, he's supposed to be about 11 now yet acts like a 7 year old at best. His voice seems deeper as well :s.

You are not alone ! I have tried watching a few times but it just irritates me and doesn't make me laugh.

I'm pleased I'm not the only one! The Office is another show that doesn't make me laugh either.

Not unusual for a 11 year old to act like a 7 year old.

I didn't get the Office but I love Outnumbered. One of the few truly LOL programmes. It's very well observed and I love Karen and Sue in this series.

Ben has always been more OTT, and it's a style that worked better in series 1 and 2. The actor has an awareness now that takes the edge away from the humour.

Wish there was some continuity from last series re the selling of the house.

Other than that I thought it was good. The fact it is now part scripted/part improvised Tyler, Ramona & Ben still managed to do a good job...I say they're talented actors.

Its about 18 months later. I'd expect they gave up trying to sell and are staying put - like many people are having to do in real life - especially if their work situation changes like Petes has.

I thought it was excellent, they can have a lot of fun with Karen and Sue's relationship now that Karen is old enough to be interested in fashion and appearance, and young and naive enough to be influenced by it and to judge her Mum harshly against more glamorous mums! Poor Sue!

Still funny.

Even little touches like Ben pretending to be a Dalek in the background.

I'm still enjoying it but it has definitely lost a lot of the 'cuteness'. For me, Karen and her endless questions and childish logic was always the best part of the programme (and she looked so adorable). Now that she is a nine year old, hovering on the 'awkward stage' lookswise, that just doesn't work anymore. However I think it was a good idea to give her a definite storyline ie being left out of the gang at school, and I hope they continue with that for a few episodes.
I always found Ben annoying and unappealing so that hasn't changed. I think the parents are brilliant and I cannot wait for Auntie Angela to come back. She is always hilarious.

I'm a but surprised by the number of negative responses to this series (though I suppose after something has been on a while people will turn against it). I think Ben and Jake are better than they have ever been (though it does strike me that Ben is much wackier in his first year of 'big' school than Jake was (in series 1)) and mum and dad are just as good as ever. Karen does seem a bit young for a 9 year old though - especially since she was so precocious at 5/6 (do 9 year olds really think it only takes 5 weeks to become a heart surgeon...).

Jake has never been whacky. He is the sensible one as befits being the eldest.

I don't think that follows. I'm the eldest.

Whoever plays the father in that sitcom is very wooden, the others are fine, but I'm finding it all a bit stilted and forced now if i'm honest. The first series was very good.

Its gone off the boil, should have left it on a high. Its a one gag show really and its starting to repeat.
