The editors have recently become concerned about the quality of the writing and also the amount of duplicate articles which are mostly cut and paste efforts. Someone has had the audacity to take her to task and she has decided that she has them over a barrel with her cast iron contract, so can do what she pleases. Note the last line* of the article aimed at the editors.
* LJ: "Clever clogs Editorial Intelligence panel . . . underestimate me at your peril."

No reader comments have been released .... yet. And is LJ really threatening to 'model' a bikini? .... I agree with you about the golden handcuffs/editor baiting thing, but the DM is taking its revenge by bringing on some substitutes [Brick/Shona/Apprentice woman] to up the ante. Nothing she can do about that - and their fees in total are probably a fraction of LJ's.

As someone whose entire family live in Australia, the greatest fear I live with is something happening to one of them and I won't be able to get there in time. Liz actually had an air ticket and decided not to go because her "boyfriend" told her not to. I would have shot him down in flames and said that he and his inflated ego was far from the main reason I was going out there and he would be lucky if I had the time or desire to see him in such tragic circumstances. But no, Liz just tossed the "£5,000" air ticket away and didn't give her terminally ill nephew and his poor mother a thought? I have absolute sympathy with Liz's sister and family, and I have to believe that Liz, in her own way, is genuinely devastated. But, she milks such sympathy from the demise of her badly looked after animals such as Saint Squeaky, that is turns your stomach when she uses personal tragedy in such a throwaway manner. Whilst in normal circumstances Liz should deserve sympathetic and supportive comments, it is noticeable that there isn't a fraction of the sympathetic comments she got when Squeaky died, says a lot about her and her 'supporters'.

A couple of points about the "editorial intelligence" panel garbage. Did anyone notice the reference to "my new boyfriend"? Obviously not the FRS, so has she found another fictional partner who apparently makes women, presumably her, "grunt"? Also, how can anyone with such serious body issues that she can't look in the mirror, pose for a national newspaper in a bikini? Only someone who is obsessed by how good she thinks she looks!

Yes, the 'new boyfriend' comment stood out. She started writing about the FRS about two years ago and claims to have known him on and off for years so certainly is no longer 'new'. She obviously has to kill off this fictitious romance soon so there has to be another doting admirer waiting in the wings who no one will ever see, or more likely, his wife will never find out about. Of course she could just be refering to a new dog, as of course she refers to her dog Michael as her boyfriend. It really isn't advisable to try and understand the world of Liz Jones!

I reckon you'd never see Liz and Astor in the same room.
Just home from a delightful laid back holiday and just couldn't stop myself checking in here for a last night laugh before I go back to work.

No - you would never see Liz & me in the same room. Or Liz and any of you for that matter.

I presume your comment is suggesting I am either Liz herself or connected to her in some way.

Nope, sorry - no connection at all. Zen or otherwise.

Is this the made up bloke she ranted on about a bit back who was supposed to come from Argentina or something? I've lost track with all her crap, we don't get a Sunday paper every week now.

Who knows, who cares... The South American Married Man ("with tiny children") was one of her original reasons for planning to go to Australia at the beginning of the year so she could pop over and surprise him (and no doubt his wife and tiny children). So we are meant to believe that facing the imminent death of a much loved young nephew she still aimed to combine this trip of mercy with hanging out with an aging rock star on his Oz tour and then nipping over to South America for a bit of casual marriage wrecking. Is grief an aphrodisiac for Wor Liz? For someone who claims to hate men and sex, to quote Blackadder "She bangs like a privvy door when the plague's in town..."

LJ's trying to start her own celebrity Fight Club. Like the true feminist that she is.

I think the article might have been taken down off the Dail Mail website. Piers Morgan has had a right whack at Liz and posted a picture of her pre face lift and make up less on Twitter.

I expect so as if suggested at least 6 differing procedures AH was supposed to have undergone. I do know there was uproar in the comments section at the hypocrisy, sheer viciousness and double standards employed by Jones.

But I did a search and there is another article since Saturday where Pippa and Kate get another whack. Admittedly Kate gets some praise too but again all very sneering of other women's fashion choices by 'the expert'.

If Liz still had periods and wasn't such a menopausal old bag I would say she's had bad PMT this month.

To be fair, that was when she was playing at being a bag lady - she was trying to look rough......

(resists unbecoming comments suggesting Liz didn't have to try too hard............. )

Really? I actually still have it open in another window here plus 100 comments open at the bottom. I suppose if I refresh the page it will disappear then

Would it be a breach of this forum rules to c/p the text into here for those who missed it? I only tend to attach links, I dont think I've ever copied text before so I'm unsure of the rules

The last time I saw the article it had nearly 300 comments and I would say 90% were anti Liz. I think that posting the article without the picture would be ok because the way I saw it was the arrows all over the face indicating what work AH was supposed to have done would be the libellous issue. But that's assuming it was a complaint to the newspaper that had the article removed.

I doubt slapped.....more like another pay rise for trolling the readers again. Probably just taken the article down whilst Leveson has yet to decide what he's going to do about the newspaper industry. It was pretty standard Daily Mail / Liz Jones but I would anticipate AH's management got it removed on libel grounds.

Ha! It's been removed & I was gonna read this later

I think Liz Jones might be a tad unhinged because considering she was the editor of Marie Claire for so long and she wanted to get away from that superficial world, she does her best to slag off every woman she sees as a threat (i.e: every single one).

Maybe the job sent her doolally?

It's back - probably following a quick huddle with the DM lawyers. Can't say I absorbed the precise wording the first time around, but the article seems unchanged. = Bitchfest 100 % intact.

Ahhhh! Maybe I may compare and contrast them in 2 separate windows then as I have left it open. Not by design or intent earlier, I just started reading the comments, and then wandered off for a while.

I shall make a cuppa and have a look lol

They've changed the picture. Probably due to Easy Living Magazine having copyright over the photograph. Still a nasty piece of writing though.

The main picture is completely different, the central one has changed from the long flowing locks earlier to a pink dress with short hair. We have lost the name of the plastic surgeon attributed in the second pic, the small younger pictures of her have disappeared too. And the comments about her being a gap toothed schoolgirl have gone from the pic along with the cover of Easy Living mag.

All the text in the article is word for word, it is the insert of her in the pink dress where the changes are. I wonder if the plastic surgeon objected to being named too as her name has disappeared from the insert altogether

Hey everyone,

Thought I would venture into your thread as I met Liz Jones today.
Well I say met, I got myself out of there sharpish.

I'm throwing my friend a baby shower next month so was out shopping picking up supplies.
I was with my two year old son and my sister. I had everything I wanted except for some 'I'ts a Girl!' balloons, so thought i'd try my luck in Poundland.

As we walked in, a member of staff came over and asked if we would mind answering some questions and having our photograph taken. I don't like having my photo taken, so politely declined. The staff member sighed and walked off towards a lady and shook her head. It was Liz Jones.

I recognised her straight away, although she is much much taller than I would have guessed. I said to my sister quickly lets go and we left.

I don't read her articles every week but have read enough to know that she is often extremely nasty, insulting, and pretty much a snob.

There was no way I was going to let her photograph me and my son. I was smartly dressed, and so was my son but I can just imagine her saying something like 'unemployed unmarried mother'. (I don't work, but my partner does. We aren't married but have been together seven years, since I was 17 and yes he is the father of my son. I just don't trust that she wouldn't choose to represent that in a way with negative connotations)

I expect to see an article online soon. Who knows it may be complimentary, but I would place money on it being a long the lines of, Is Poundland for Chavs, or something equally judgemental.

I feel sorry for anybody who isn't familiar with LJ, answered her questions in good faith, and had their photo taken. On top of what she could write, there's the fact that the public can comment on articles on the Mail Online. There is no way I would want to open myself up to comments from the public! Some of the commentators on there rival LJ herself.

My sister didn't recognise Liz, well to be fair I don't think I gave her chance to even take a look. However, she does read the Mail Online. I asked her if she remembered the articles about stealing your boyfriends sperm from a condom without his knowledge, or insulting Holly Willoughby for daring to look pretty without make up. She said yes, and I said well that's who wrote them. Needless to say she was glad we had made a quick exit!
