^this. Liz just hates not being number 1 and good employers realise that your priorities change when having kids. Not that Liz isn't kind of like a kid in her delusional make believe stories of course but your priorities change to your kids, not one you work for!

Tried to comment on this yesterday but couldn't get DS to accept me.

My mother was deaf in one ear and going in the other before she died and she did not have a speech impediment, neither do I as I also partially deaf. If Liz is going deaf it shouldn't cause her to speak oddly as she wasn't like that all her life. I think she likes to say she is so she can explain away her rudeness.

A waste of a good photo shoot.

Probably the most ill-judged thing she has ever done. One minute she is boasting about being compared to Kate and now she's doing a drag act impersonation of the Queen. I think it's really offensive, and I'm not a Royalist, I do admire the Queen and Phil though and this is just so disrespectful to a truly hard working woman who should have been allowed to put her feet up decades ago. She and the DM deserve all the negative comments this has received.

Completely, utterly, irrefutably crazed maze of codswallop.

Its a particlarly bizarre article, isn't it? There seems no point to it, other than getting their money's worth of the grey wig they obviously bought for the 'Liz as an old lady' article earlier in the year.

Might we just settle on "delusions"?

Agreed.
Whatever possessed her to write the article? She really is nothing more than a professional troll - anything for hits to the Daily Mail website.

It's an offensive article and she's made a fool of herself...any pretence of being a respected journalist has well and truly gone.
She's a joke.

You know, I am not a Royalist, but I find that distinctly insulting and bad taste!

And Kirsty Allsopp.

They have style, and are at least taken seriously in their professional fields - whereas Liz is a joke. I'm sure she's only invited on This Morning to provide a suitably outrageous point of view .

“Liz doesn't scare me. I've read 'Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse' by CDC. I'm ready, folks. It appears to be a highly mutated form of the flu -- currently labeled Z5N1. Scientists haven't identified the source of this virus yet, but symptoms include slow, shuffling movement, slurred speech and moaning, snaggletooth red grins... The undead become more active when the sun sets. Warnings have been issued for dozens of countries about staying indoors. Stay bite-free, y'all. - - Branda, AZ, USA, 12/5/2012 11:01”

Quote:
“Here is a lovely woman, who has achieved a good job, and writes with elegance and wit....yet all you other women want her got rid of.....What on earth is wrong with you? It seems to me that a career woman's worst enemy, is other women. They hate to see a lady doing a job they want to do themselves, so hit out with vitriol and jealousy. Liz Jones is a credit to this country, and I would like to see her write more...Maybe even a book. She is very talented, which can't be said for 95% of women in Britain, who sit on their backsides eating pasties and chocolate, then get boozed up and make towns and cities no go areas for most decent people. --- Old Codger, Berkshire, 12/5/2012 10:10”

"overly verbose" it wasn't (and not a well-honed expression that the Marie Antoinette of Journalist would ever use!)

And somehow Liz has got 3 articles in the Mail today - the Dreary, her opinion on Britain's Got Talent and another anti women rant including nasty comments on Holly and the other guests on tv.
She's a nasty , jealous , spiteful woman.

Christ, that woman is really annoying.

I saw her on the paper review on BBC News last night.

Happy to sit and spout her views (some of which I agree with) then constantly interrupting and decrying the views of the other person on there who is coming from the right wing.

I really cannot abide her.

The FRS's description of the tour bus reminded me of a Mitchell & Webb sketch, in which a pair of TV drama writers couldn't be bothered to do any research and decided to wing it. The consequence was a Casualty-type drama full of doctors and nurses speaking in hilariously untechical and childlike language ("Now he's poorly from too much electric!")

As someone else commented, the FRS describes the wonders of the tour bus with the wide-eyed inexperience of a maiden aunt who's never encountered such a vehicle before. "A great big van with a mini bar and beds and some such." Who talks like this? Certainly not experienced rock stars who've been travelling like this for most of their lives!

And are we supposed to be amused by the regular quoting of emails from someone who has specifically asked her not to do this?

Horrible vitriolic stuff about Holly Willoughby and Amanda Holden (I actually thought Holly was spot on in the way she challenged Liz about her contradictory writing.) As for her nasty comment about some dancer's "big nose"....this kind of rudeness would be unacceptable from a 7-year-old child, let alone a fiftysomething woman who writes for a national paper.
Awful stuff!

I think that rather adding fuel to her fire, that not reading and ignoring her is what will bring her down.

Newspapers thrive on readership, by not commenting or following her every move or contradiction gives her some dubious kudos, after all she is a columnist and they thrive on controversy to elicit reaction and therefore publicity for the paper.

I dont like Liz Jones, I used to read her column but dont now, she has been whitewashed from my life, yet every now and then I just wish that others would not hang onto her every fault, as exasperating as it is and follow suit.

I dont read her but on Forums like this, it is hard not to come across her at random. I agree with you all but as challenging her witterings has made little difference, isnt it time to give her the order of the designer boot.

All wives and girlfriends [what girlfriends, who?] have been banished: we are thinking along the lines of Sven-Goran Eriksson [he is always banging on about football, and Kenny Dalglish in particular], and keeping women away from the training

......If the FRS is so keen on football, then surely he should know that it wasn't Sven G-E who banned the wives and girlfriends; it was Fabio Capello. I'm fairly sure Sven was the opposite, actually pretty relaxed about letting the players to have their WAGs around. Can anyone confirm this? Maybe Bellagio, king of the detailed research?

.....It may be a trivial error in the grand scheme of things, but it's the sort of thing that gives stuff away. An RS with a love of football, wouldn't get this wrong (after all, the Sven reference makes a nonsense of what he's actually saying), especially if he was taking the trouble to use this as an analogy in an email which he knew was bound to get published!
