Did you know that there is a new list of banned songs in China!

There are songs from Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and even an really old one from the Backstreet Boys.

(If you want to read more: http://language-culture-translation....s-chinese.html)

I want to know what you think about banning songs from a certain country!
Wouldn't it be better to censor them somehow?

i`m not sure. i thought censorship went mad earlier in the year in the uk. when radio decided to censor rihanna`s s&m, it ruined the listening experience of that song on radio. maybe, they should just not have played it. however, personally i thought the song was tongue and cheek.

Ok in this case I understand. But I think in some countries they are too strict with censoring.
Could be because I'm from Germany. They didn't censor Rihanna or Christinas - Dirrty ...
But maybe our government thinks the teens can't understand the lyrics....

Blimey, they must have hyper-ventilated when they heard Rihanna's S&M!

Crazy somehow. Because this song in my opinion is worse than "I want it that way" from BSB.

I remember reading that they banned the entire Guns N' Roses 'Chinese Democracy' album as a vicious piece of Western propaganda

the funny thing is, i was in the car this afternoon. they played s&m uncensored on the radio. maybe, it was just censored on the radio chart shows? then they played `rolling in the deep` and censored the s word!

In this country a cover version of "Unchained Melody" by "The Goons" was banned for years and only a short time ago it could be heard. It was considered bad taste to treat a love song that way. It is on "The Best Of Peter Sellers" cd.

*Tsk* That's terrible, because to everyone else it just sounded like Axl Rose finally disappearing all the way up his own ass.
