Hello I iz making new thread as you can see with your eyes.

This thread is good.

You will post

(Our pictures are really cool)

The reason that Degsy and Indianwells are not included is because it wouldn't be fair on the other DS members.

I don't see any poll.
Epicurian and JamesParkin's pictures are of a much higher standard than degsy's and indianwells' - sorry boys

I agree. I do like photography but I can't be arsed to set up a tripod and lightbox to photograph a plate of food. Having said that I might give it a go. Epicurian and James Parkins plate presentation is exceptional and I think that makes a big difference. I know some people say you eat with your eyes but taste is still the most important to me. Not that i'm implying their food doesn't taste good! On the contrary, anyone who can make their food look that good is going to ensure it tastes as good as it looks.

I don't think epicurian uses a tripod, lighbox ... , but I could be mistaken. They are just fantastic amateur pics, aren't they ?
I never use any of that semi/ professional paraphernalia and my camera is just a tiny little box that I haven't completely figured out yet (after 4 years ) I just take hundreds of photos and the best one wins !
What I have experienced is that pics taken outside in daylight are much better than anything I can take indoors. Of course the weather isn't always helping, but as long as it doesn't rain, it'll work.
The taste/flavour of food is most definitely the important bit, the rest is embellishment, but lovely.

Thanks up there ^^^

I don't have a lightbox and I'm not sure where my tripod is, but I'm dreaming of a macro lens.

You're welcome and deserving. Your food is also very colourful, which I like.

The picture of the chilli with the tortilla chips in it is the winner for me.

I am going to cook today so will take some pictures, not sure if it will be sweet or savoury though

Thank you.

I've enjoyed looking at all of the pictures but JamesParkin really deserves a special mention.
