Often when channel hopping we come across a programme that has started and we want to record it, and the rest of the series.

But you only get an option to record the rest of the programme that is on.

Then you have to go into the guide and search for the next programme in the series and then do the series link from there.

You then end up with two folders-one with the first programme and the second with the rest of the series.

Is that the only way the humax will do it?

Yes but the first recording won't be in a folder. It's easy to move it into one once the first proper series recording has created the folder

But still wondering-is there any way to series link a programme that you are viewing after channel hopping?

The Samsung one can do it and will offer to record the whole series as well as offer to record the HD version if on offer.

If you opt for the HD version it will not save the portion you have just watched in SD.

Top marks to Samsung then, I wonder what options you get from the Echostar ?

I take it as there has been no reply, the Echostar doesn't give you the option to record the whole series if a program has already started.
I'm sure if it did give this option somebody would of said by now. Oh well no box is perfect.
