Vision interface changed:
seems the interface has changed.
mainly just colours however I'll list them: 1. all blue highlightable items such as cursor are now purple. this includes the blue bar on rewind/fast forward 2. all menu backgrounds except on demand ones, are no longer transparent, and are now a medium shade of grey. 3. the orange banner for recording, HDMI issues etc etc is now a glossy red al la vista style. 4. vision logo has changed to a optical illusion style white triangle. 5. bt logo on boot has changed to greyscale. 6. on demand has a new entry titled box office and a renamed replay. so it goes: rentals, downloads, whats hot, TV, Replay (Catchup TV), film, box office, kids, music, sport, more, help. 7. Vision main menu has a new section that budles try this, games and messages together. 8. the guide has a new image bottom left, instead of R record, >> +24 hours, and O search. you have R record, O Trailers, O Search. 9. guide's shortcut menu now has an extra link to settings. 10. fixes pre-padding issue 11. fixes lipsync issue Software version reports as 2.1.2024.1035 I like the new colours and makes it more natural. However the non transparent background is annoying as you no longer cannot see the TV. Box office is an odd one since it's a clickable item under films still so why duplicate it? unless there's something happening with the films section.... or the box office section might be doing other items other than films? who knows. correctly though, all replay menus except the one in the on demand area all point to BBC Iplayer properly, and load it as such. the on demand area one states how to get it. Why not enable some of the other stuff now Bt? there's tons of disabled features in that software. Link: http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/d...ion-a-new-look |

The new colour scheme takes a bit of getting used to. It works well though.
The client works very well though. No issues so far... |

I've got this version but found a couple of strange things going on with it which I have reported to BT. They don't seem to effect the workings of the box but would be nice to fix. It';s all about consistency across all the screens. I wait and see whether they will or not.
This upgrade seems to have fixed an issue I had with blank recording as well. Infinidim ![]() Megadodo Publications Ursa Minor Beta |

Why am I always the last to get these updates? When I had sky I was the last to get the new HD epg and the anytime+ update.

Np. Will try and take a video of it.
Care to enlighten us on these findings? ![]() blank recordings? I've not had that issue... The issues I have seen are down to colouring of screens (they are not consistent across all the BT Vision screens) and there is a minor bug in the system information screens which I have reported to BT. I think the version is still in testing and that is why everybody has not got it yet. Hope this helps Infinidim ![]() Megadodo Publications Ursa Minor Beta |

does it match the one ive posted? if so, reboot your box by holding down the powerbutton...... a) if it's a silver box the screen blanks and the green power light blinks then re-boot kicks in. b) if its a black box, the powerbutton flashes red rapidly for a few secs before the screen goes blank and the box reboots. |

Mine is the same. I have those 3 things but none of the others. My version is still showing as a 2.0 version.

Doesn't anyone else find the colour contrast of the new scheme dreadful? White on pale grey? Not a very accessible colour scheme for people with visual impairments.

What colour was it before?
I know the front screens have changed but I can't remember the previous settings. |

I've noticed that the volume on the box [silver] is now at the correct level, so pleased overall.

wow, bad luck..
oh and you may want to rephrase that last sentence.. ![]() makes no sense... cancelled vision this morning after the 3rd engineer did the same thing. now trying to get out of phone+ broadband. £101 to terminate. don't think i'll be paying that for a homehub that DHCP errors, crackles, and causes issues with devices being mapped to the outside IP. cancellations this morning put me through to technical saying just get them to say its unresolved and we'll cancel. he was very good and from england. India tech support refused to say it was unresolved and marked my account as fixed, and tried to book a 4th engineer visit. after 3 hours on the phone I eventually got cancellations to get him to mark it as unresolved, effectively terminating the vision contract. what a polava. however they think the homehub is fine, and refuse to log as not fine until an enginner sorts it, course what he'll do is give me a HH3, which is not what I want. I have 5 months left on my contract. And virgin media are enabling the whole lot 12th oct in my area so very tempting. As many of you know here Sky simply is not an option for me here. i mentioned that to you before I think PG. Sadly it is the latest software causing me issues + an account issue. The system was good but I've had the final straw now. i was a die hard cable user and will continue to be. No traffic shaping and all ports open (meaning I can hold my own mail server etc etc as BT don't allow this unless you got business broadband) well was nice being a vision user. I will pop back. now though I got two identical 160GB HDD's in sata..... 320GB Raid 0.... Yes please! |

gone back to Vm, getting installed next thurs. on the 6 months half price. (aint bad really considering Bt gave nothing until you pass one year). when in 4 weeks they turn on the new fibre i'll be getting TV L with sky sports + HD. Don't need movies as I blue ray / apple tv for that. Besides theres VM on demand.
gunna be around £55 a month by then, after 6 months about £72 I think. Unlike sky they charge you for V+ unless on XL. (I want V+ for red button, Tivo aint got it yet I need it for football first) so that's an extra £5. I'm sure in time i'll be able to crack em a deal. it's BB L, phone M and TV L |

- most of my posts are based on facts i've read, or found out, or experimented with, and or what I have learn't in the past.agreed im never always right. I try to make logical sense of things, I do get frustrated as PG can easily say. after patching my homehub, i'll be fixing it's issues via CLI. and converting it into a VM router, for use on a 2nd subnet (for the game consoles) |
