Zoe Ball - Results Show?
CloneClown
04-09-2011
I know that she is presenting ITT this year but has it also been announced that she will be co-hosting the results show with Tess like Claudia did?

This assuming that the results will still be on Sunday and that Bruce won't be involved in them.

Also is Zoe only a temporary replacement for Claudia - she hasn't quit has she?

I vaguely remember Claudia still being down to do the results show (as before, with Tess, recorded on Sat and shown on Sunday, sans Bruce). Things might have changed, of course, now the baby's here....

I really hope she does come back, even if Zoe does a good job, which I'm sure she will , because I thought it was meant to be a break for this season. I doubt they/we will know till next year.

Claudia is still doing the results show, Zoe is only doing ITT

I haven't read anything that implies Claudia will do ITT again at some point.

I'm sure that Zoe said she was looking after the show for Claudia.

Ideally Claudia will be back on ITT next year and Zoe can replace Tess on the main show... ANYONE can replace Bruce.

She said that she has big shoes to fill. I think people misinterpeted a tweet from Claudia, when she said that she couldn't do it because of the birth of her baby and people implied that she was only having a year off.
Anyway Claudia tweeted before that, saying she was leaving ITT and not taking a break.

Also the BBC press release says nothing about Zoe being an interim host.

Quote:
“ Zoe Ball was today announced as the new presenter for BBC Two's Strictly Come Dancing – It Takes Two, the sister show to BBC One's Saturday night spectacular.

As a former Strictly contestant, Zoe is a self-confessed dancing fan, who knows a thing or two about fancy footwork and has experienced the drama of competing in the series first-hand.

Speaking about her new role on It Takes Two, Zoe said: "I am quite literally beyond elation! There has been quite a hullabaloo at home with the news. I'm giddy with glee and I may even have slipped momentarily into a celebratory Cha Cha Cha, although technically not a very good one!

"Having been a contestant myself and having hosted the Strictly Come Dancing Tour, it would be fair to say I'm obsessed with the whole dance phenomenon, I love everything Strictly, from watching the partnerships blossom and bloom to the tricky footwork, the frocks and the shock exits, and of course the judges.

"Physically and metaphorically I may have trouble fitting my huge feet into Claudia's tiny wee shoes, she is one fabulous lady, but I will do my best to bring all the ups and downs and laughter and tears behind the nation's favourite show to the fans. I can't wait to start this thrilling adventure. Such fun!"

Zoe will be slipping into her dancing shoes this autumn to bring viewers all the latest backstage drama and gossip, exclusive interviews and news from training sessions on this year's Strictly dancers and their celebrity partners.

She appeared in series three of Strictly in 2005, where she came third in the competition with her professional partner Ian Waite, behind runner-up Colin Jackson and series winner Darren Gough

Moira Ross, Executive Producer, Strictly Come Dancing, said: "Zoe is a fantastic presenter and I'm delighted that she is joining It Takes Two. With her first-hand experience of the series, she's the perfect person to give viewers all the insider knowledge, gossip and news from this year's show."

It was something Zoe said on twitter that made me think it was just for a year but as you say, I most likely misinterpreted it.

ITT will involve a lot of work and Claudia made presenting a live early evening show 5 nights a week for 3 months look easy, which takes skill for sure.

With 3 young children I doubt if ITT fits in with Claudia's life any more.

Sad, but I guess we were lucky to have her this long.

I actually thought Claudia was a little bored with ITT last year.

I did too, I LOVE Claudia but particularly at the beginning of the series I thought her heart wasn't in it as much.

I really like Zoe Ball. I thought she was robbed, robbed I say of the title. A good choice. Although I like Claudia too of course!

Her baby was born in the first week of July, so Claudia would have been newly pregnant during the last series of ITT and maybe she had that on her mind.

Personally I thought she was on top form and better than she'd been for a while.

Basically at this stage no-one knows whether Claudia will come back to ITT. Her family are her focus right now and who can say what will happen next year ?

I suspect that everyone involved with Strictly only ever signs on for one series at a time anyway.

Whether Zoe will do ITT next year will depend on how well she does & how she's received by the audience. I like her & hope she does well. I also hope people give her a fair chance and let her be herself, rather than constantly comparing her to or expecting her to be like Claudia.

THIS YEAR:
1. Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly will present 'Strictly Come Dancing' live on Saturday evenings
2. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will present Strictly Come Dancing The Results' on Sunday evenings
3. Zoe Ball will present 'Strictly Come Dancing - It Takes Two' weeknights on BBC Two.

NEXT YEAR: Nobody knows about who will feature on the show as all the stars are only signed up for no more than a year at a time. HOWEVER, it is expected that Claudia Winkleman will return to her hosting position on It Takes Two (WHOO HOO
