Just had a quick skim of that, he sounds about as much fun as Peters father in Family Guy.

Curious about the rest of the Gibson siblings now.

I think you are mixing Mel Gibson up with Kurt Russell.

Doesn't he have a load of kids? (edit: one daughter and six sons, according to wikipedia) I feel sorry for them having to see their father like this, making a public spectacle of himself, but then perhaps they've seen it all before, only up close?
Does make you wonder, especially in his business how long he's kept this 'under his hat' as it were.

It also makes you wonder how long people he's worked with have known about his opinions and disliked him in private, but his position as a box office draw have made him untouchable?

I guess it could be another Murdoch situation. People knew he was an unpleasant individual, but felt they could do nothing about it because he appeared all powerful. Now his support base has gone (or at least has declined), they no longer feel inhibited.

It does show you that a lot of what makes a person powerful is the collusion (knowingly and otherwise) of others.

Newspapers eat up stories of celebs behaving badly, especially over here.
He's only 'all powerful' with the studios while he's box office, who else, apart from those he employs has to keep him sweet?

Suspect he's just learned to keep it buttoned, lots of people do with their opinions.
I keep it buttoned a lot, can't be ar$ed to 'get into it' with people I disagree with in real life, just avoid lots of subjects.

Don't think so, he gets his views from his right wing Catholic father.

I still believe he is quite mentally ill. Supposedly, all of this took place with no alcohol or drugs in his system. This has nothing to do with right wing views.

Mel Gibson has been known to have alcohol addiction problems. Other than that he seems to have problems with anger management. Anybody who battles those demons is going to look crazy.

I feel bad for him.

Yeah, well he's a typical Capricorn - controlling personality with a me, me, me attitude. Only does things for people to hold them in his debt.

In the hidden tapes, other than rambling about how it's her fault if she gets "raped by a pack of niggers and wetbacks", and calling her every vile anti-woman word under the sun, the tapes consist of him ranting on about how he's done this and that for her.

Nasty man, karma isn't finished with him.

Don't feel bad for him, such a person lacks the capacity to feel bad for others.

You feel bad for Mel? Mel had it all, blew it and still will never be poor. Cry for someone who deserves it.

My dad's a Capricorn. That doesn't sound like him.

What does that have to do with it? There have been/are evil and nice people born under every star sign - your birthdate is of absolutely no consequence to your character

Leslie Phillips, the Carry On Actor shares a birthday with Hitler, do you think they were similar types?

Don't know the guy personally of course but I will say that Passion of the christ is a real master piece.

Have you seen his latest movie 'The Beaver'? His career is finished. Even the cast and crew of The Hangover II refused to work with him when he was cast in a cameo. He's a homophobic, racist, homophobic, misogynistic arse and I'm glad to see the back of him.

Well, they both had silly moustaches-but can you see Hitler eyeing pretty girls up and down, lasciviously, going, 'Ohh, ding-dong! Well, hel-loooo!' in a posh accent, while grinning smarmily!?

I imagine he regrets some things and is beating himself up over it.

I think it'd sound better in his own accent

Perhaps he'd star in Carry On SS-Oberführer or something

Oh tell a lie first Mad Max movie.

it was called Tim.

Iwent off him big time when he slagged off gays on that Spanish interview and still went on to be feted on the red carpet etc.

It was only when he went for women and jews that the world turned against him.

Where was everybody in the 90s when he was homophobic and got away with it?

Reminds me of that line from 70s disco hit, and TV theme, SHAFT. You'd have to rewrite it a little for Gibson, though:

'He's an anti-Semite maannn, and noone understands him-spec'ly women (MEL! Talkin' 'bout Mellll...)'
