It also makes you wonder how long people he's worked with have known about his opinions and disliked him in private, but his position as a box office draw have made him untouchable?

I guess it could be another Murdoch situation. People knew he was an unpleasant individual, but felt they could do nothing about it because he appeared all powerful. Now his support base has gone (or at least has declined), they no longer feel inhibited.

It does show you that a lot of what makes a person powerful is the collusion (knowingly and otherwise) of others.

He's only 'all powerful' with the studios while he's box office, who else, apart from those he employs has to keep him sweet?

I keep it buttoned a lot, can't be ar$ed to 'get into it' with people I disagree with in real life, just avoid lots of subjects.
