Bt Vision or Top Up TV?
I currently have Top Up TV & have done for 4 years, lately the downloaded content has been getting less & less including the removal of all BBC content at the end of August.
Looking at BT Vision I see that Sky Sports1&2 are around £7 a month cheaper & I get ESPN free, taking BT broadband (currently I'm on O2) & the same phone package I already have I would save about £25 a month, the only content that is watched religeously from Top Up TV is Dora & Deigo by my 3year old & House by me, I know I won't get House any more but other than that is it the no brainer it seems? Does anyone have experience of both? And before anyone says go to Sky, been there done that, far too expensive & too much junk. |

Hi tosh2006 I used to have top up tv from when they first started, when they changed to the anytime system it drove me nuts.I then went to bt vision which had not been running that long and still had some bugs,so of i went to sky.Now though i am back with bt and have been for nearly 2 years,my wife, kids and i now love it.We have full package with sky sports 1&2 and like you said free espn.
You do however need a min bb speed of 2mb or 2.5mb for it work.hopes this helps. |

We had TopUpTV and then BT vision - BT visions VOD completely swamps what TuTV provide(d). We wanted TopUpTV for things like Eurosport but they seemed to think that a rehash channel like Gold was more important than live sport. What was stupid was that those who wanted Gold did not want it in prime time because it interfered with recordings so switched the auto download off - so no-one was happy!
I suspect that the 'mis-management' of Eurosport was something to do with Setanta... |

I swapped top up t.v to bt vision a month ago, and all that was watched was spongebob and mickey mouse for my little boy and got fed up of watching the same episode everyday. I cant believe I didnt do it sooner there's so much choice even just with on demand, Id never go back to top up t.v and the week of hell if the box just decided not to record spongebob.

Our total bandwidth is around 4 - 7mb/s depending on time of day and we have had no trouble with BT Vision streaming.
Just tested with speedtest.net and we get around 4.4 mb/s. |
