I think that I used to try harder, until the 'sitting on the fence' remarks got to me

I never want to upset anybody re. anything in life, so I always try and word things as carefully as I can and still get my point across, I think we all try that as much as we can

Yeah, being a grandma has a lot of positives as long as you get it right and it sounds like you are - experience because you've been there before but expert enough to know when to back off and let them get on with it; support when it's needed without being interfering. You wouldn't need to take any diplomacy tablets, Barbara. It's in your DNA.

What I like about Barbara's posting style is that yes she's diplomatic, but she is also firm in her beliefs, will say what needs to be said if she feels it needs saying - but never in a nasty way - and knows who to be firm with or who prefers a more 'outspoken' approach. She also gives great advice

Haha I obviously wrote that wrong, I meant if I took her out at midnight they would feel right in removing her, not that I wish them to ... it's my biggest nightmare, the idea of being without Laura, she's everything to me

I tweeted her several times thanking her lol; only reply I ever got was when she tweeted about having 2 birthdays lol. I did thank her though

Love reading your posts Ali and so glad Laura is well, the photos of her in Butlins were lovely she looked as though she really enjoyed herself
