Does anyone know for sure if the A580 has Eco Mode Plus? The online manual doesn't mention it like it does for the A380 and I don't want to purchase before I am sure.

The website blurb and page 81 of the manual mentions Eco mode, but not Eco Plus mode. Depends if you want 80% or 100% power reduction during standby/idle.

Do you definitely need Eco Plus mode?

Yes I do. Well I also looked in their blurb and didn't see it which is why I asked here. You see some places selling this phone specifically mention it while others don't. Upon further research it appears to be part of a firmware upgrade if you have an earlier build, or if you buy a later made item, it is already installed.

I have an A580ip and despite only eco mode being mentioned in the manual it does have eco mode+ available as an option within the handset settings options. My firmware version is 021920000000 / 053.00

The whole eco + idea really has me at a loss.

Instead of the base transmitting to the handset, the handset has to do the work and inform the base every so often that it's still alive.

So, the handset battery dies more quickly, needing charged more. Also decreasing overall battery life, so they'll have to go in the bin sooner.

Which bit is eco?
