I'm not even going to try and predict a finishing order for them all, particularly at this time, when I'm rather tired.

However, I can't see Harry winning it. I think he could end up being another Ricky Whittle / Matt Baker / Matt Di Angelo type. Assuming he can dance, I can picture him being one of those that peaks too early, gets majorly hyped by the judges (we know the public usually don't like those) and stumbles right near the end against an "underdog", whoever that shall be.

Just a feeling I have, and I'd happily be proved wrong.

To many 'ifs' to even try and call it before we have seen them dance a few times. But if you are trying to find the formula, it will most likely be someone with a 'journey'. Someone who sticks in the middle of the scoreboard for about two thirds of the series, then suddenly everyone starts noticing. Cannot peak too soon or too late.

If it's a women, she will be pretty, but accessible, affable, a little goofy and non threatening. If it's a guy, he may or may not be good looking, but he will have the 'guy next door' attitude. But before all that, they will at least need to be able to dance respectably. They do not have to be the best dancer, but so far, the voting public will not tolerate someone who is dire, beyond half through the series.

They will all need to be able to fake humility convincingly for the camera, whether they are or not They must also be able to really get it across that they are just having the most bestest, most wonderful time EVER. Oh, and they must be able to convincingly portray that they are SOOOO grateful.

I think that covers all bases. Feel free to add if I've forgotten anything.

I think Harry will win, he was really good on CIN.

I think Nancy or Holly will be first out, Holly's the Martina Hingis of the groups, she doesn't really have a profile over here anymore.

If Nancy's really terrible, she might hang around a while as the comedy choice, but I think that Nancy/Edwina will be chasing the same comedy vote but Edwina isn't obnoxious enough to be another Widdie. That slot could go to Russell.

Alex and Dan will stay in a while because of One Show/GMTV support!

Agree with a lot of this, apart from Dan - a think a female will get to the last three. Some of the “popular” celebs are not actually that popular or indeed well known - could run into problems due to lack of fan base and xenophobia, although I think Holly Valance will be more prone to the latter than Jason Donovan.

I think Nos. 14 - 11 are definite No Hopers. Rory, Robbie, Lulu and Alex are destined for average success and the definite contenders are Harry, Jason, and Holly. Being a Luvvie Anita Dobson will probably have some dance training and could get to the semis as a token oldie, a la Pamela Stephenson. Surprise packages could be Dan and particularly Chelsee - a lot of people, (including me) hadn’t heard of Kara Tointon last year and look what she did !

When I first heard some of the names I thought Holly Valance will be great but now I have a niggle that she won't be and Jason Donovan has had a bit of stage choreography experience now but I don't think he's a natural. Edwina, Russell and Rory will be duds and probably Audley too but I think Nancy will take this really seriously and looks great.

(are we presuming Anton is getting Edwina??)

I'm going to put my neck out and plump for Dan as outright winner - though the last morning TV presenter with a tennis background was godawful (I'm looking at YOU Andrew Castle!). Aaargh I think I'm over thinking this!
