You've never lived. Have you tried an egg white omelet or are you just saying you don't like the look?

It's healthier to have an egg white one.

By using a skewer to poke a hole at one end, tip the egg and let the white pour out. Very gently though, so the yolk's natural bouyancy keeps it afloat within the egg, so it doesn't pour out as well.

I still don't understand how you're going to stop the white merging with the yellow.

I think you're just making things more complicated for yourself.

Print out my OP and follow my instructions as you cook. Trust me it will work. Once you've done it post a picture of the finished result.

I shall do just that - although I might put a bit of a Biffo twist on my creation just to make it special

That's just not true. It's all about the context of what else you eat. If you need Vit D, for example, it plainly isn't, as the Vit D is in the yolk.

There are no 'unhealthy' foods - just unhealthy diets. There are foods with high levels of fat, salt etc - that just means they should be eaten less than other foods.

Sorry, gone into rant mode, but the idea that a single dish is 'healthier' is wrong

It will be special enough if you follow my recipe.

How very rude. I think it looks like something Mr Ramsay would cook up.

You're incorrect in saying that an omelet should be made with all of egg.

This is an egg white omelet.

And I'm saying you're better off making one with all of the egg

That's not true! Fat is not your enemy. The yolk contains a lot of goodness in it and essential amino acids. If you are going for a particular taste then fine but don't misinform people. People have been eating whole eggs forever and they are good for you. If we are talking nutrition then just eating the whites means you are losing out on nutrients.

Yeah, but less calories so if you're dieting then it's better really.

No, it would be INCORRECT to say that an egg white omelet should be made with all of an egg. Thats not what he/she said.

An omelet should be made with all of an egg and your egg white one, with only the white part. Simple really.

Are you going to use just half a chicken to save calories tomorrow?

Well we're talking about egg white omelets here so how a normal omelet came into the equation I do not know.

Most probably, I am all for saving on the calories and portion control.

Simple answer, no.

It has to be a cooking lubricant. Surely you have some butter or something in a cupboard or fridge?

If not then don't fear as you can still make one. Just maybe cook it more slowly and make sure it doesn't burn. If it isn't cooking on top fast enough then tilt the pan so that the mixture covers the whole surface of the pan.

Why 20?

Were you wanting to lose weight?

Tomorrow I'm going to make chicken wrapped in bacon, with BBQ sauce and cheese.

The healthy version!

You can buy ready-divided liquid egg white in a carton from Waitrose.

Why? Give me the details...convince me why not eating the yolk is healthier than the white alone. I await your pearls of wisdom with baited breath.

Just because something contains less calories doesn't necessarily mean that it is healthier.

If calories were bad things, we'd all be chomping on celery sticks... god forbid!
