Should I salt my green tomatoes overnight
Last year I made spicy green tomato chutney and can't remember the recipe I used, not that its a problem .
But looking on some recipes online, I see that some people salt the green tomatoes overnight. Will I get any benefit from doing this if I do that this year ? |

I don't salt mine... peeling's bad enough! I think it's the best chutney I make though Mrs. Bleads preferes the courgette one.
Have a glut of tomatos at the minute so will be making some over the weekend all things being equal. Running out of things to do with them to be honest. |

Well thats 6 jars made unsalted, now to approach the neighbour and see if they will mind if I pinch their quinces to make some jelly, well they normally let them rot unpicked so shouldn't be a problem

Made my tomato chutney the other night but my quince aren't quite ready to be picked yet. Hoping for a bit more sun and then I'll make Quince Cheese.
