Honestly, and I'm not just saying this as a Britney fan, it was a pretty comprehensive break down of the sales, and I think a ''stan'' wouldn't have been as realistic as this FM was. I don't think it's as high as 194 million perhaps, but I'd say it's a lot more than 100 million anyway.

The figures just don't add up in a lot of cases. I find it hard to believe she's only sold 100 million records. Her album sales and single sales combined only reaching that figure? I'm not convinced at all, really.

Let's SUPPOSE that her album sales are approximately the following:

BOMT : 25m.
Oops : 20m
Britney : 13m
ITZ : 9m
My Prerogative : 5m
BO : 3m
Circus : 4m

That means that in total she has sold about 80 million albums. The only singles of hers that were HUGE hits were 'BOMT', 'Oops' and 'Toxic', so if every other single sold about 1-2 million ww then I think the figure could indeed be around 110-130 million records sold worldwide, which is the number I would consider believable.

(The 100 million figure sums up 1998-2009, so I didn't include 'FF' in the figure)

Agreed on the albums (except I think Britney and In The Zone are a bit higher) but some of her singles have been massive, especially in the world of downloads.

According to MediaTraffic, from year-end lists;

BOMT - 8.9 million.
Crazy - 4.1 million.
Sometimes - 3.9 million.
Oops! - 5.9 million.
Lucky - 3.9 million.
Born To Make You Happy - 3.6 million.
Stronger - 3.5 million.
Slave - 2.9 million.
Me Against The Music - 2.6 million (2003 list).
Toxic - 5.3 million.
Everytime - 4.1 million.
Me Against The Music - 2.7 million (2004 list).
Gimme More - 2.6 million.
Womanizer - 3.5 million.
Piece of Me - 2.5 million.
Circus - 2.6 million.

TOTAL - 62.6 million.

That's only the sales from the singles that made the Top 40 bestsellers of a year lists. For example, I believe Womanizer had big enough sales in 2009 too, but perhaps not enough to make the list (as we saw with MATM, which didn't chart particularly high in 2003 or 2004, but ended up selling over 5 million in total).

Total Record Sales From What We've Got Here In This Post: 142.6 million. Add on the stuff from Femme Fatale;

Album - 1.5 million.
HIAM - 3 million.
TTWE - 4 million.
IWG - 1/2 million (went platinum in US, not sure worldwide).
Criminal - Not very much at all, really.

Revised Total - 152/3 million.

It looks like we've found a middle ground, anyway.

Hmm...I don't know, though, it seems weird. The official estimate is at 100 million, so I could agree with 20-30 million more than that, but 50 million more than the estimate is a bit far fetched. But I'll settle for 140 million ww.Just let Britney know what we've decided because she has to learn how much she's sold.Don't let her be the last to know. You tell Britney and I'll update Wikipedia

It's great that she's tweeting She seems very happy lately, which is amazing and now I can hope for an amazing era sometime in 2013, maybe. If she keeps her spirit high, she might deliver

The official estimate from... Wikipedia?

How can you settle for 140 million worldwide, when there's people who actually research and compile sales and put them on the internet every week?
They weren't even all her singles and their sales either. It's just from their year-end lists, because I'm not bothered going week-to-week for 13 years.

Does simple mathematics confuse you?

Damn, I hate sounding frustrated on the internet, but when there's people who actually bother to do this shit, and then others who just disregard it because it's not well known or because Wikipedia () say otherwise - that annoys me a little.

Britney was seen playing Dance Dance Revolution in a mall in Peru.

Gurl is still the most random.

Also there's a funny video of her messing about with some traditional dance from Peru onstage. Typical Britney facial expressions galore.

When will your fave (unless your fave is Britney)?

BOMT
Oops!
Britney
ITZ
GH: MP
BITM: 1
Blackout
Circus
FF
BITM: 2

Does Chaotic count? She did an EP for that, and also Mona Lisa got some radio play and was included in The Singles Collection. I would like to have included Original Doll, seeing as she even spoke about it as a real project and she was photographed holding a demos CD with loads of leaked names.

That'll never happen. Sadly her interviews are scripted and rehearsed these days. I'd like to see her management allow her to speak for herself.

I know but that would never Happen. Original Doll was Legit thought i mean she talked about etc had songs ready then it got scrapped. Jive just didnt want to take the risk with an album like that.

But then again we wouldnt of properly got Blackout.

I take it you use a Mac then? What's Final Cut Pro like to edit with? I'm thinking of learning iMovie and then maybe buying FCP if I feel I need it or get on ok with iMovie.

Original Doll sounded like a very different, personal album. I'm disappointed that we never got to hear it.

Although I'm happy with Blackout of course, it is sad that it was the product of so many problems in her life.
