I may have made it rain,
Please forgive me,
My weakness caused you pain,
And this song's my sorry...

Now that the FEMME FATALE era is over..... I think it's time Britney re-evaluated her singing career, progressed as an artist, and became more experimental with her sound/look.

The FF era was not promoted well at all hence the lack of commercial success.... I think maybe she needs to take some time away from music and try and forge an acting career for a while before she comes back to music more hyped and energised.... I want the all singing, all dancing Britney back once and for all.

It is so annoying when Britney does and album like Blackout and Femme Fatale these days.

Such freaking amazing albums in the Dance genre tha could have so many different ways of promoting visually and in performance :-/

The releases and videos really could have been pushed out here as well as more international promo etc.

But hey at the end of the day i am grateful that at least she does have heart to really treat her fans really. I just wish that her heart was in it for herself with the music too sometimes but hey.

At the end of the day it is initially the music first and foremost....and FF is one of the best albums of the year and out of all contemporary Pop Titans...Britney is way ahead of it

I agree Josh

You know what, i think Femme fetale was more worthy of Album of the year and Pop vocal than Loud was. Femme fetale is really something different.

I suppose in a way but it's like rated r was dimissed in favour of Loud i think Britney should have followed Circus with FF because that shows more progression than the mis step that was Circus.

Circus works well before FF because songs like Unusual You/Mannequin really give an indication of what FF ended up becoming.

Yeah definitely! I do wish that Femme Fatale was pushed out more and the Dance category wasnt so...JUST the genre lol....Pop has Dance part of it too! DAYYMN!

But yes i do feel FF should have had an Album Of The Year nomination...i mean it got Platinum shipments Stateside at least!

But hey grammys always snub Pop really which is a shame...as FF mixed it up a lot like Blackout did...Blackout was her darker, nasty, harsher and frank side! And FF was the quirky, lighter, melancholic side BOTH amazing albums and two of my favourite Pop albums of the last 10 years no questions asked.....i just wish they were both marketed better.

Like while Blackout was released in such a dark point, they could have made it more visual and she may as well have focused more on videos to endorse the material than live shows at all really. But hey! And FF would have benefitted from more frequent videos, sustained promotion, more focus on live performance and presence really.

I mean just imagine if Britney actually TRIED more...we know her stages and dancers and costumes are off the hook....but if she pushed it more she would kill stuff like Big Weekend, glastonbury, V Festival etc here in the UK! Which is the only real disappointment....the fact we know what she can be capable of really.

Realistically, they shouldn't have even released Blackout. If i was record label person and knew one of my top artists were having problems and couldn't mentally promote an album, i wouldn't release it

But as a fan, I am glad they did. It's her best album to date imo.

True if her label were concerned with her health then they wouldnt have released or marketed Blackout.

BUT had they also been 100% behind her we would have had Original Doll released in 2006 as initially planned! And they would have backed her...and we would have had an album like Blackout early 2008 perhaps. This would have reflected her more creative side as an artist and Circus etc would have been bypassed perhaps or have some form in her later more recent stuff.

So in that respect with it all happening the way it did....it was kinda one or the other way to look at it all. If she had The original Doll...she would have had the music to focus on earleir and her breakdown and mental meltdown would possibly been not as severe or as drastic.

I would love to have heard Original doll
It's a shame they scrapped it. I wonder why. I know she took a few years off to have children but i still wonder why she chose not to ahead with it.

Yeah she was pregnant while recording and Jive decided randomly against the material...as i assume it would have continued the story of a more darker Britney which we did have a year after of course.

And with her alter ego Mona-Lisa all readied i think they may have thought it to be a big risk. Like Madonna/Dita/Veronica and Bowie and Ziggy STardust....i dont think Jive were ready to have Britney take a massive risk that early on. They should and could have really but hey!

So therefore her Mona-Lisa alter ego appeared a bit random in Do Somethin.

Yeah I read around lol. But yeah in the My Perogative "mini" era it was about setting Britney up with her Mona Lisa alter ego really....like teasing it in before she went all out with The Original Doll which she was recording across 2005 for a 2006 release. But it never came into fruition because of Jive.

But what are called "Blackout Demos" are essentially the songs that were for Original Doll pre-Blackout stages.

And they are truly lovely, heartbreaking songs really.

I would have loved it! Sasha Fierce who???

She isn't recording. I reckon she will take 2012 out and likely marry that guy she is at the moment

Britney tends to take a break in between albums and not do what she did like in her hey day and have an album out every year.

You would think that but it seems her personal life is never shown in her work

Circus was meant to be really explosive. It was gonna cover her breakdown and basically have songs about people who used her for cash and messed her around behind the scenes. One song was reported to be called ATM and it was hinting towards her parents.

Sadly, Circus was just a rushed Pop album in the end. I have always have resentment towards that album.

OMG me too it was an attempt to just consolidate a comeback it will always be an album of blackout discards and songs that sounded like that albums b-sides it really was a step back not forward and really breaks up the flow between blackout and FF which would have made sense instead circus makes her back catalogue uncohesive and mess

I really didn't like the way that her management were going on about it being a huge comeback album, the best she had ever been involved in whilst completely ignoring Blackout which is a far superior album. Blackout is rarey acknowledged.
