I hope the X Factor rumours are true. Its definitely becoming more and more likely by the day with the different people talking about it. Not sure how it will go though. It will be either amazing for her career for getting the exposure and the promotion that she needs. Although she doesn't really need any in America would be better for her to do the UK version. On the other hand it could be bad for her career as people may laber her a has been etc. Hopefully she is confident if she does it and shows everyone that she is not the same person she was a few years ago.

Rant over.

I don't want her to do it as as you said it is the domain of has beens and no hopers she's better off without it but time will tell.

Also a happy St.Davids to you all :P

I dont want her doing x-Factor, i mean can you imagine what some people will say to her if she says no.... 'oh you lip sync, you never sing live' etc etc and the way Britney is now she wouldn't be able to handle it imo. BUT then maybe this would bring her out of her shell.

I still think she is a Too big of a Star to do a show like xFactor Maybe a guest Judge but thats it.

the only X Factor she would "need" is the UK version...for the sake of promotion really. Stateside she is fine, shipped a million copies, number 1 albums, singles (last year!) and top 10s instantly!

In the UK her album just made the top 10 and only 1 single made the top 10 due to hype. She could do with the publicity and options to promote her new material across Europe with her UK show if she did it.

Personally though even then she is still an established name, her career isnt "flagging" by definition either and she doesnt "need" it in any shape or form.

Just realised i spelt label wrong. I know she isn't a has been. I'm a big fan. I know she had success in the US. I meant people over here would label her that or find something else bad to say about her.

I'm in two minds about the X Factor USA rumours.

On one hand, it would/should be great exposure for Britney and a chance for her to come out of her shell as a confident public celebrity. We would get to experience loads of Britney during a time where she would have no music in the pipeline for a long time. Britney's career has been built on the definition of having "the X Factor" so in that sense she would bring something vital, something which Paula or Nicole didn't have. Plus, despite hating it last year because there was no spark to the show, I have a feeling Simon and the producers will bring it with quality this year. Who knows, she could become the nation's sweetheart again from the show?

On the other hand... I can see it going awfully. Britney could freeze up when it comes to giving criticism and a flood of "that was very cool, I liked it" would come from her mouth about a hundred times per show! Somebody brought up the possibility of her being labeled a has been too, I can see that. The X Factor USA isn't at an A-List International level yet (I think that's why they're throwing Britney's name into the media as often as possible) so it would be deemed a step down or as a "desperate attempt to save her career"! When you think about it, she's replacing Paula Abdul or Nicole Scherzinger...! Then there is the singing ability accusation she will undoubtedly face time and time again, be it from the media or disgruntled audition rejects, which she will unlikely be able to defend herself against. I cannot see Britney going "I dont sing, but I dance..!", she'll likely get upset and go further into her shell. With Christina on The Voice beating X Factor USA too, it would compromise her position as being seen as a more successful popstar than Xtina.

It's tricky...

I've made my mind up (I think)... She shouldn't do it. Too much to lose; I'm all for risk taking but this seems like a pointless risk.

even if she does do it i will be in denial of it happening lol.

and lets face it....its all for a ratings boost and something for the media to lampoon and tear her apart with

Britney should remain behind the scenes for a while tbh ...a guest judge role would be fun but...even then it is needless.

As i said if it was for the UK it will be different! She needs her name boosted here and in Europe...but Stateside she can sell over a million easily!

Yeah, needless is the right word I think. She should be diving back into making an album, it's not exactly strenuous work for her and it could be ready for Autumn/Christmas.
The judging role would put her front and centre and fresh in peoples heads, but ultimately, it could drag her down á la Nicole Scherzinger and the Rachel Crow debacle.
Her on the UK show would be amazing. I can see her just being in awe of how outrageous Louis gets!

Oh dont that would be hilarious!

But apparently Team Spears have denied the offers from Cowell....i guess that he is feeling so un-loved right now. Madonna, Janet, Kylie and now Britney have rejected Cowell who basically "wants a big name for the show to generate a media hysteria everywhere"....i can see The X Factor US doing one final year to be honest and will be cancelled tbh...what a FAIL lol.

and then hopefully UK one soon after (although i did like that we have some A-list eprformers on the show...although they were lacking a lot last year!) but hey that is just my opinion too

Glad Britney has rejected, well if that is true
I don't think it would be good for her

She's too big for the show. They need a washed up singer who isn't really having hits anymore. Nicole and Paula fit that bill ever so well. Especially Paula.

Who would have thought Cheryl Cole would bring about Simon's popularity decline, he made her what she is today, after all. It wasn't a very professional move, wether it was his decision or the producers, but he is the face of the decision I suppose.

I don't see it lasting beyond this year either, unless, as I suspect, they pull all the tricks out of the bag to revive it. Britney shouldn't commit herself to a ship that will likely sink soon. She should do the Las Vegas residency, fans have said that for years.

X Factor UK did lack something last year, I think it was a combination of stereotypical acts, overly rehearsed judgements (Kelly, Gary), and SEVERE hypocrisy from Gary Barlow when judging other mentor's contestants. It wound me up big time. Louis was the only form of entertainment and honesty, with Tulisa a close second.

Haha yeah i love it...almost robotic haha! Bless her, i think that is why i couldnt "warm" to that whole Circus era tbh, it all was so controlled on such a massive scale tbh.

2008/9 was a definite return and they made the best of it definitely, but so glad she is in much more control

I think that the X factor if the rumours are true will give her the boost she needs to her musical career. Look at how it launched Cheryl Cole and Nicole Scherzinger.

It really is, isn't it? I thought the X Factor rumours would provide a bit more to talk about, but I don't think too many fans know how they feel... as you may see a few comments above, I didn't for a while, then I was against it, but now that it seems near confirmation, I'm a little excited.
