Exactly, if anything it is that drive. Madonna always said that her critics give her that power somewhat, that drive to do what she does. And by aggrivating some dynamics it allows for the music to become clearer in some ways too.

Same for Britney! She is in a position that no matter what she will have music out there and it will access her fans and sell well and be heard!
