I personally really like Britney Jean BUT i do..much like Femme Fatale before it FEEL that it could have gone so much better and earthier and rawer ...the idea of being an alien in isolation people relate to that...i do...it hit a chord many tmes on that album BUT i feel the apce is off on the album too...but overall i do really like the album still...overall very solid and placed in the very middle if i rank them
but i feel with Blood Orange, Naughty Boy, Danja and indeed mr Orbit himself Britney Jean coud have gone with the original (heavily speculated) Feed The Wolves ideas and go all out with another darkly rich masterpeice definitely.
I think definitely if we had to say "what Britney album is a masterpiece?" In The Zone and Blackout are on top! definitely.
ITZ because it marked a spark in Britneys legacy, her really saying NO to Bubblegum/Dance Pop Britney and Contemporary R&B Britney to a more ELectronica, Synthy style with cultural flavour and experimental moods and grooves, plus really richening her voice and tones of where she could go

a really all round eprfect album and really coming o age and should have been the true START for her
Blackout because she recorded it in the darest period of her life. She enhanced her sounds/direction teaming up again with Bloodshy & Avant, recording in Sweden with those guys, bringing Danja on board and getting British influences with Dubstep and grime music on the album...it makes for the Pop equivalent of Rocky Horror and i feel if she went on tour that would be the direction she went in. Plus contains some truly signature songs.
Now for me Circus YEAH on re-listen and re-listen i do feel that the vibe continues from Blackout with the Danja penned/produced material there and the themes of personal darkness, getting out from the dirt, being controlled, facing the media/rebellion really is a continuation and kinda a side-quel to the madness...but in many ways it feels cleaner cut/more commercial perhaps ...i mean i would have LOVED more single releases as the potential was/is clearly there but alas. I do however think in time it has continued to grow more and more and have loved replaying the album...just wish she sustained success but still.
then Britney, Femme Fatale, and (regardless of what people say) Britney Jean are around this mark for me....they are really good albums...full of potential and indeed showcase a wasted potential (for the latter twos case anyhow) i mean FF as meant to be grimier/more darker and conceptual but Dr Luke then got involved...Britney Jean was meant to be auto biographical and true and eprsonal and again conceptual...but Will.i.am took over...so at the end of the day neither could show themselves off.
No wonder soemtimes Britney CBA with promotion when her heart may not indeed be in it :/.
I just would love her to make her own album whatever she wants as labels really dont know all the time what will sell....as these recent times have proven.
And the same is said of MANY returning artists in pop music of late...it gets repetetive and we just want MORE!
