Do the houseguests become "celebrities" like in our version? I know that Jessie is now a wrestler and Jordan is Americas favourite . But do any of the houseguest get tv shows, endorcments etc?

If so who is the most successful and do we have a list of who has done what?

For the most part they go back to their regular lives after the bubble ends.

For the most part they go home to their regular lives. I don't think any housemate has ever done anything major in the public eye outside of the show.

Jeff and Jordan both did The Amazing Race after the show, and Jeff did "Around The World For
Free" Alison from BB4 also did The Amazing Race with her long-suffering boyfriend Donny (who turned out to be every bit as awful as his beloved!)

Dr. Will is or was on some kind of Celebrity doctor show. I know Boogie appeared on it to have genital warts removed. Your welcome.

Other than that. nothing to much.

I don't think Dick has any real notoriety outside of Big Brother though. In terms of being most famous for Big Brother, I think Janelle is the most famous, then Dick, Jordeff, Kaysar and Will.

None of them have ever achieved mainstream fame beyond a few who scored appearances on other reality shows. Big Brother is not on the radar of celebrity journalism in the US. You can't read about their lives after the show is over in tabloids. People don't talk about episodes the next day at the office. It's more about winning the money than becoming a star. There are a lot of reality shows in the US, and a few of them can make people quasi-famous, but for whatever reason Big Brother isn't one of the ones that can make you a minor celebrity.

It's gotten so bad that prior houseguests need criminal charges for brief bursts of publicity.

Kerry Katona would never sink so low.

I think it has actually become bigger the last couple of years though, or at least the biggest it has been in quite some time, it was all since BB11 really. The ratings are not too far behind Survivor these days, and it beats its competition cleanly every week, and as highlighted in that Variety article it creates lots of buzz and chat online, especially on the likes of Twitter.

Does this translate in to fame for the housemates? Not as such, but they can become very popular within reality circles which leads to appearances on other reality shows. And gossip sites like TMZ often have articles about the exploits of housemates during and after the show.

She's virtually unknown outside of Survivor's audience, and I'd guess that most of them know her as "the pretty one the host fawns over."

She's not even the most famous Survivor. Elisabeth Hasselbeck went from Survivor contestant to co-host of a well known daytime talk show. Most Survivors are only well known to viewers of Survivor, which is a sizable audience, but not universal enough to crack mainstream awareness. Richard Hatch is probably one of the more famous Survivors, simply because back in the first season it actually got some media coverage, plus the whole diabolical naked gay tax evader thing.

I assume we're discounting American Idol and the other talent based reality competition shows, because hands down those create the most famous reality stars. But there is the possibility that some of those people may have become famous performers anyway.

I think the most famous non-talent show reality stars are in the pseudo-scripted lifestyle "reality" shows rather than the competitive ones. Snooki (Jersey Shore), Heidi Montag (The Hills), Kate Gosselin (Jon and Kate plus 8), Bethenny Frankel (Real Housewives), and others. Some of those are genuine B-list celebrities rather than Z-list nobodies. You constantly see celebrity news coverage of those types of people.

Forgot about Elisabeth Hasselbeck I like her she does well on the view as the sole conservative versus the four liberals.
