Absolutely right.

That's why I don't.
Fair enough. I hope you avoid all medicines too.

Some people who become vegetarians/vegans don't realise they might become deficient in B12.
They don't realise it because it's pretty bloody unlikely. It's an issue only for really strict vegans, and even they can manage perfectly well. As I've already said, if you're a vegetarian and deficient in vit. B12, you're almost at the point of having to deliberately work at it (anorexic, perhaps?).
By eating vegetables and tofu etc..they think they're eating healthily, and on occasion have to rely on supplements.
It sounds like too much hard work being a vegetarian. lol
If you're a vegetarian and feel a need to take vitamin/mineral supplements, you're doing it wrong, basically. In a balanced diet they're simply surplus to requirements. It's not hard work at all.

Being a vegan is your own choice, nobody here will argue about it. Just like eating meat is a choice we make. Making it some ethical pity-fest only makes you look worse, and I've known a lot of vegans. Not all of them like you want to force their ethics onto other people, they're happy to live and let live.

You are just making yourself look foolish in front of people when you push your beliefs onto them, and they are more likely to reject you when you talk down to them. Perhaps if you tried a different approach, one with less being a richard about it and more genial, you might get a few more people listening to you.

Until then, learn how to deal with it.

I originally tried your not unreasonable approach with her but I think her diet has affected her ability to have normal rational thought processes.. its a bit sad but sort of funny as well

I'm going for a mixed carvery lunch later - beef, turkey and ham all on the same plate *happy*

When a member of my family got married a few years ago, we got a local farmer to do a hog roast for us. That was chuffing delicious.
Ooooh, I bet Mumbo's head will be going like the Churchill dog at that!

Good point, have you answered this question yet Mambo?

And I see you're still using your computer which is full of dead animal products.

Yes, I do.

And I see you're still using your computer which is full of dead animal parts.

How's that, then?

Yes, I do.

Some medicine is made from dead animals.
How's that, then?

Oh jeeze I don't know the names of them do I? I'm not an electronics engineer.

But I do know that a lot of things are made using animal products including medicine and electronic components.

I do feel sorry for poor Mumbo here, but the things he says, he does bring it on himself.

Amongst other things, I feel sorry for people who can't read very well

I don't feel sorry for him at all because he completely brings it upon himself.
Still at least he can take comfort in knowing that all his arguments are backed up by the paragon of virtue that is "Wikipedia"

No you didn't.

So anyway, medicine and electronic components both use animal products during manufacture so are you going to stop using them or is that different than eating them?
