I can imagine the general consensus will probably be Gabby Logan but for me, it would definitely have to be Gillian Taylforth.

I don't know why but I've always thought that she would have really thrown herself into training and would have improved over time to be a Top 5 contender. Plus, she could have been Anton's longest spell in the competition. Such a shame they went out Week 1 and she looked completely gutted (close to tears in fact) during her exit interview on ITT.

Who would you like to have seen more of?

Jade Johnson, Jimi Mistry and Don Warrington.

Jade. Jodi. Jimmi.

And no, I am not Arlene!

Jimi Mistry and Zoe Lucker.

And Austin. I know he got very far etc, but he really did deserve to be in that semi final rather than Lisa.

Lots of love for Jimi...personally, I was not a huge fan...

Jade Johnson in the vain hope that her presence alone could make the last few sloppy weeks of that series enjoyable.

Stephanie Beacham!

She was glorious, funny and not a bad dancer- have no idea why she went first (for the girls). We were also promised a spectacular Week Three tango that sadly we missed out on

I also would like to have seen Siobhan Hayes in Series 3 get further. Technically, her Waltz was one of the best but her nerves meant the performance became very awkward. When she came mack with Matt to do her her reprise, she had improved greatly and really shone.

Obviously we also have the James trio (Cherie/ Zoe/ Gabby) but I feel Cherie possibly would have been let down by her Latin had she continued.

Now that's a great choice!

Wholeheartedly agree with your comments here and would add that her pairing with Vincent was hilarious!!!

Agree with this one - her reprise was actually really lovely! Much more than the actual first performance.

Would also have liked Austin Healey to go further, and to see what Martina Hingis might have achieved in improvements had she not had food poisoning on the day of performance when she was voted out first.

Still gutted years later at Louisa Lytton going out when she did, as well!

Good call regarding Martina!

I was so excited when she was announced and was gutted when deadwood Rav was saved over her.

She was better than fellow tennis player Monica Seles on DWTS!

I actually really enjoyed Martina's Rumba (to my favourite song, no less!)

are they doing the same this series and not having a dance off and just going on public vote?

Tina O'Brien is another one who went earlier than she deserved, she was a shock exit

Am I allowed to say Austin, despite the fact he made it all the way to the quarter-finals? I just think, once the final 3 were decided, Tom was already the winner. Rachel and Lisa weren't hugely popular (hence why they'd appeared in the dance-off before) and Austin always seemed a fan favourite. I just think an Austin/Tom/whichever female final would have been a little more unpredictable.

There are others from over the years, but Austin is easily my first choice.

Jimi Mistry.

And Aled Jones. I always thought he should have got to the final although I suppose he got to the semi-finals anyway.

Austin Healy - that was a shocker- no way was Tom Chambers a better dancer than him

^^ This. Such a shame we didn't see more of Stephanie. Her relief at being voted out on that first week was very funny though.

I must say that I think it's a big improvement that they all now get to dance two dances before the public gets to vote. It wasn't enough to save Goldie (another one I'd have liked to have seen more of) but it does give us the opportunity to assess ballroom and Latin.

I was disappointed that in the battle of the Logans Gabby went out before Kenny, but I bet I wasn't as disappointed as Gabby must have been. Wonder if Kenny still teases her about that?

Martina was who immediately came into my mind when I saw the title of this thread and I'm hoping Nancy won't go the same way this year.

But I do agree with a lot of the names mentioned, especially Jade, Austin and Gabby. Still can't get over Gabby going so early or Lisa being chosen over Austin.

Martina Hingis should never have gone so quickly, same with Stephanie Beecham and also another lady I think went a bit too early was Gillian Taylforth. I think she could have been great with Anton but alas we shall never know.

Phil Daniels - maybe a bit controverisal because he did appear awkward in the one only waltz we saw him do but I'd have loved to seen him do a Latin and to see if he'd have improved in the ballroom - basically I think he's a nice guy and good actor and it's shame we never saw a bit more of him!

Jimi Mistry - nice guy, very enthusiastic - I think he was a good dancer and he had a lot more to give - felt he was undermarked and poorly treated at times by the judges.

So basically two of Flavia's guys - I would have liked to last longer. On the other hand I think Craig Kelly lasted much longer than he should have and Jimi Tarbuck really should have gone out in week one before having to pull out.
