but if it's just a spare song, how would Amazon have it at all?? the only logical explanations I can come up with is that either its an amazon exclusive (seems unlikely) or its a B side for the second single and they've already got the masters - but neither seem very probable

Ah Matt just responded in the comments field on his FB. Saying "thanks everyone you made my night". Shows he really is on FB tonight. Never seen him do that before. He just leapt in around the 400th comment. Normally he only writes on his wall.(?)

Forgotten his name lol but if isn't Tom Meadows on drums I doubt it's the guy we thought it was because they were very linked musically.

Maybe he's used the spare songs to create exclusives across different stores, as you said. Can you download it seperately? Hope it's not some horrible scam where you end up downloading different packages of the single to get unknown songs. That would not be nice. Worst thing is I would pay £1.49 for unknown tune. So it would work as a marketing strategy.

that's what's really odd about it, it's up as a stand alone track - not part of the package for the single just on it's own with an earlier release date.

Can't be right though - I mean what if it charted - though unlikely given zero publicity - must be a mistake

Yes it is I'm not certain, but on zooming right in on that photo it looks pretty much like him.

I wouldn't be sure. I've seen this before and if I remember Keane did it. A stand alone track. I wouldn't be surprised if there is something about it in the newsletter. It. Wouldn't be chart eligible though. Same as b-sides aren't.

ETA I have no idea why an angry face appeared at the top of my post!!!!

Well it does seem odd cos Peachey hasn't got a great bio...which would suggest that the inbetween bit wasn't outed due to lack of experience Maybe we'll know one day lol...and we're still speculating on Peachey.

Yes it's me going! Such a shame you can't make it Lennonlove - I know Monday is a difficult night!

I can get a train into Kings Cross at 16:50 or 17:20 if anyone wants to meet up and walk from there.

Wow, the photos on the website are lush!! The names make me laugh though....places I'd like to smooch with Matt.......doorway.......desert road.....night road, and my favourite.......in the field. ”

Close call Cardie! Don't think I'll make it into London before 6 - so will meet you guys in the pub! Can't believe it's only two weeks today!

Haven't got a clue where Sparks fits into things - it sounds great though - but Chemical is still my favourite so far.

So it's just an early present then? Something to download and own before the single? Why only Amazon? It is definitely there as a single song standalone for 89p. But then Amazon STILL haven't listed his deluxe Letters version. I know because I keep waiting for email confirmation for when they get it. So who knows. You think it would have appeared on itunes first? I agree with WKD all I can think of is the office boy at Columbia clicked on the wrong file and away it went!

Lovin' it too. But everytime I read Sparks my mind goes to that brother duo in the 70s/80s, where one of them sported a crazy Hitler tash and hairdo. Challenging music!

I wonder why it's not been listed I hide all my Matt stuff in case family members think I have gone mad (which is debatable) Not sure how I am going to hide the barrow load of CDs I've pre-ordered. Probably hide them where I hide my new shoes

Ive seen heaps of tweets moaning about the fact its on a Monday night. Had it been a Fri or Sat I have no doubt it would have sold out. Its also quite short notice for peeps. Im pretty sure they will have sold out the vast majority of tickets. certainly the "over the phone" tickets were all gone, only net ones were left. Olly Murrs didnt sell out the Caird hall in Dundee and thats not a big venue and he is on his second album ”

He was also allowed to fall off the radar for a good 6 months and is now just beginning to raise the profile again. If I was someone who didn't follow this forum and twitter, I wouldn't even know about it. The promo has been pretty limited - if anything, I am surprised by how quickly the Scottish tickets sold out.

Given that he did disappear for so long, I think the launch is going very nicely. I have heard the single a few times today, there's the BBC Olympic thing and the YT hits are steadily increasing, in line with the James Morrison/Will Young views at this stage - in fact I think he has more than they did at this point. As Wkd said yesterday, the whole launch has the feel of someone being aimed at the adult market and it is ticking along just nicely.

Us scottish lassies are a sucker for a handsome bloke and a guitar . Also no one comes up here so when someone like Matt comes up cue madness for tickets. The single is well and truelly getting aired on the radio now. I heard it all last night and when I got in the car tonight It came on and the guy was bigging up Matt being at Clyde 1 so its all good.
