i liked jim too-certainly one of the characters that made the show. Was obviously the 'bad guy' but a great bad guy if that makes sense! He was best in the earlier series before the shows writing went a bit downhill.
I always thought the one thing they never managed was to provide a really good long term love interest for jim-jim/karen and jim/di were a bit dull really. I always thought helen stewart would have made a fascinating love interest with all the love-hate potential if they hadnt done the lesbian storyline obviously which was great too! |

I always found the obbession with Karen Betts reveal kind of creepy and untrue to the character of Jim.

agree that was poor writing and just didnt fit in with the character and was totally random and out of the blue! and a bit stupid seeing as we had the whole obsession thing with di barker and various people.
unfortunately in many of the later series this type of thing was quite common-random,unexplained often unbelievable stuff which was a shame. |
