I adore She & Him and there had had been lack of news regarding a Volume 3 but wow, they are doing a christmas album and it isn't gonna be your typical christmas album as their music is very Indie and Quirky.

This news has made me beyond happy.

I honestly thought I was the only S&H fan on DS!

I am struggling with "indie and quirky", I am a fan, I have both albums but I find their songwriting and sound very VERY traditional.

They're usually described as 'indie/pop' but I also don't class them as indie. They have a very retro sound and the albums are probably two of the poppiest I own.

I've been listening to S&H a lot lately. I can't wait to hear their christmas stuff. I'll definately be buying the album.

Thanks for posting. I'd seen the cover on a website but glad to see that it has been confirmed. Zooey sang Baby It's Cold Outside in Elf a few years ago, it's the first time I heard her sing and I loved her voice instantly.

Me too. I want Christmas to hurry up now, I just want to play it. I'm going to pre order it. Is it getting a UK release? I tried to preorder it a few weeks ago but it said "US import"... Sometimes US CDs don't play in the UK.

How come? Do US CDs have different "region" type codes like DVDs? Would a US CD play on a UK-bought laptop?

Region 1 doesn't play in the UK, a US import is likely to be region 1

True. It might play on newer devices though but I'm not 100% sure. I don't have any Region 1 DVDs/CDs I can try.

The first track from the album, 'The Christmas Waltz' was released today!

I really can't wait for this album (though Christmas music isn't usually my kind of thing. She & Him however, is)! Will be playing it full blast in the car in an attempt to convert my family and friends!

To those discussing genre, I think part of She and Him's appeal for me is that it's very hard to define them and their music, and I think that's really what makes them stand out from the crowd (for me, anyway).

EDIT: Also for anyone wanting to buy any US imports, all CDs are universal (by law, I think).

They are not really a commericial type group but i have a feeling this may sell well. Zooe Deschanal is pretty much hot property now. Her TV show has become a ratings success so people are bound to wanna check out her other projects.

I did find She & Him through being a fan of Zooey Deschanel (Or rather through being a fan of Emily Deschanel), but I really hadn't expected to find this kind of music when I first started to listen! The fact that she sings the theme tune to 'New Girl' will hopefully/probably help to push sales.
