I have a lot of green tomatoes left on my tomato plant which won't ripen this late in the season. Does anyone have a good recipe or ideas for what to do with green tomatoes?

I've always wondered if they were similar to tomatillos.
If so then you could make green chile sauce.

I love chilli, that sounds good

My mum used to make chutney. I can't help with a recipe though.

I saw a recipe yesterday for fried green tomatoes in a BLT.

spicy green tomato chutney, made it last year and again this year and really good with cheese, and if they had gone red would of still made them into chutney/salsa.

Put them in a brown paper bag with a banana if you want to ripen them.

I was going to say you could fry them - but just because of the book

not just of the book, but Fried Green tomatoes are wonderful. My gramma used to make them when I was a young. She used her big Beefsteak tomatoes from the garden.
