When I was a kid in my first year at secondary school I used to eat icepops every day. There was a shop on the way home from school and I'd buy about 5 every day without fail (even remember eating them in the snow once.)

Now I'm pregnant and I can't stop eating them once again (I understand this is common in pregnancy). However I noticed today they say do not eat before frozen. Why?! (Not that I'd see why anyone would want to?)

I went crazy for ice when I was expecting #1 Slavette and with #2 it was cola flavor ice poles (ice pops for people who don't know what an ice pole is), I would get upset if anyone or one of my nieces or nephews asked for one by the time #3 was on the way I'd progressed to ice and licking coal. It had to be real coal though and thankfully I don't think either of us have suffered any long term effects.

I have no idea why you can't eat ice poles if they aren't frozen though.

oh my goodness mr freeze are the very best ones! I love the texture of them, some of the ones you can buy in supermarkets to freeze at home go all brittle and sharp, like an ice cube, but mr freeze ones are almost like a slightly more frozen slush puppie. Amazing.

In the US we have Otter Pops, which are basically the same thing, but with silly cartoon characters that represent the different flavors (like Alexander the Grape).

You can buy a box of 100 of them for $3.67 (£2.31).
