She said she was originally going to vote for Louise but after she found out Jay, Anton and Aden were planning to put her up against Aaron and that Aaron and Harry were both going for Anton and Jay she said she'd change it to Jay.

I'm pretty sure she did - on BBBOTS she said in her nomination: "I don't mind people not liking me, but I'd prefer they were truthful rather than making out one thing and saying another" - a clear reference to Jay having lied to her, claiming not to have nominated her the week before.

They're very lucky to get their sh1t together when they did.
Harry and Faye wobbled in a serious way, and if they weren't so lucky the remaining two would be spiritually and psychologically defeated for good just waiting to be picked off.

I don't always like Aaron, but that was the only move I've seen in gameplaying terms that has truly impressed me this series. How he pulled that off I don't know. Some might say that Jay is slow on the uptake, but still, Aaron's brain must have been operating at the speed of some sort of new bio-supercomputer to calculate all the permeations and pass it off as a plausible argument in that situation.

It can sometimes be complicated enough as a viewer to work out all the permeations of what might happen if so and so votes for so and so, and so on.

Faye was next into the diary room. Her first nomination was for Anton because she said she is discovering a two-faced side to him. She also nominated Jay because she felt that he hasn’t made much of an effort with her and she feels the “wolf pack has gone too far.”

I'm sure she'll have also said about Jay lying to her about not having nommed her last week, but, because it didn't make the highlights, they won't show it

I would like to be cautious until I've seen how tonight's HL show plays things.

Because a couple of night's ago I saw an edit which was purposely designed to make Faye look bad.
I haven't seen anybody on the main forum mention this yet.
Remember when she came out of the diary room with her sister to play that prank that she had been evicted to save Jem?

Well if you watch that segment again you'll see that the editors have been up to their usual time displacement tricks.

When Faye reveals it to be just a joke we see a wide shot where most of the housemates are chuckling and smiling. We even see Aden smiling and Anton clapping her in the background.
Quick cut away back to Faye.
Then in a split second back to a shot of Anton and Aden in completely different body positions with entirely different expressions on their face as though they're staring at something with gormless expressions on their faces.

That was absolutely edited in such a way in order to elicit a certain feeling within the viewer.
They've taken an edit of Aden and Anton from a different place in the timeline and slotted it into that part of the scene.

If any of you watched Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe episode about reality television you'll be very aware of this type of editing trick. Many of you will be astute enough to recognise this anyway if you can get to watch that segment again with more scrutiny.

So, for now I'd be skeptical and take little for granted. I want to see how they play things out in tonight's show first before I'm comfortable about Faye getting fair treatment from BB.

There's no way they will want to deliberately hurt Faye's chances at the moment. They are desperate for a boy to go to balance the genders better and they clearly put Jem in to see how she'd bounce off Faye. Why go to the trouble of recruiting both sisters only to try to get one of them removed as soon as the other arrives?

If they're deliberately trying to show Aden and Anton disapproving it's probably because they are targetting Aden and Anton!

Re Alrightmate's comment on editing, there have been quite a few edits this series that made Faye look worse then even in BB's own clips. And this from the "The editing of the Aaron/Faye nomination" thread is interesting:

How strange I watched that and never noticed the beanie hat jumping from head to head.

You have a point, but I remember people saying before we knew Faye and Maisy were up that BB would do something to stop another girl going. That didn't happen, and it's not clear how much BB really cares about the gender balance.

I'm not saying BB would deliberately hurt Faye's chances; but BB might to something they think makes the show more interesting that would have much the same effect.

If the sisters wrestling makes the highlights, that would be a good sign. Also, Faye and Jem seem to be liking the new Stranded task, so it has the potential to produce some positive footage.

But she needs to be happy, fun Faye and not get paranoid or upset, and there's a history of gameplaying HMs deliberately provoking something in the hope of turning viewers against a HM.

Is Faye getting into the role of Aaron’s girlfriend already? Despite her coy reception to the ‘relationship chat’ earlier, her protective actions over Aaron spoke louder. As the stranded housemates (Aaron, Faye, Harry and Jem) tried to wile away the time until they are rescued, they decided to get involved in a snow fight. It seems Aaron may have got caught up in the fun, as he threw some snow down Jem’s trousers. As the frolics died down, Faye jokingly quizzed Aaron about his behaviour saying “Were you tickling my sisters fancy?” and asking if he’d got excited about it. Aaron answered in jest, “No, but it’d be good to know it still all works”



Aaron then brought up how he missed Maisy, to which Faye quickly replied with “I bet you do, do you miss locking lips with her?” Faye went on to explain the reason why Aaron kissed Maisy to Jem, mockingly saying “Aaron’s reason? I thought you didn’t like me”. This spiralled into them retelling the whole story to her from each other’s perspective, before Aaron nipped it in the bud by joking “Let’s not fight, let’s wait till we get out”.



However, it was all light hearted couple banter, as the pair have been hugging and kissing every since. Is it too soon to buy a hat?

But then, looking on the bright side, I don't think it's a failing

I wasn't going to post anything tonight, but I am absolutely furious about the highlights.

Compare the clip of Faye and Jem wrestling that I linked about with what they showed of it in the highlights. They left out everything that showed them having fun and instead just showed the least interesting part, spun as Faye taking out her frustrations.

They're leaving out things that would give viewers positive reasons to like Faye and to try to save her, and they're making sure they include things that will turn some viewers against her (such as her joking remarks about Aaron's willy near the start).

Meanwhile, they used some of the highlights time to show Alex being told a few things about the royal family, because of course that's more important than showing Faye having fun in a week when Faye's up for the vote.

So I don't think tonight's edit can be explained as BB trying to make a more interesting show. Instead, it seems they're deliberately trying to make Faye look bad.

Tomorrow? Out of the Stranded task, they used BOTS to highlight parts that make Faye seem jealous. If that's a taste of what tomorrow's highlights will be like, let me be in advance.

Food and cigarettes are things that can be big giveaways in an edit.
They can be a nightmare in terms of continuity.

Funnily enough we don't see them eat or smoke much in there this series do we?
Anything to make their job a bit easier I suppose.
