If this result was therefore the "fair" one, it would then be unfair for a twist to distort this result. Alex did not deserve to be up, hence the free pass.
Of course, that doesn't explain why he sought to bring Tom into the mix - other than for personal reasons or because he couldn't create the "fair" result exactly - and it doesn't tally that well with the subsequent discussion he had with Faye. So, yeah, who knows, really.”
That's interesting. It doesn't fit with Aaron telling Alex and Tom "you two don't deserve to be up", but I think it can fit with what he told Faye (at least in last night's highlights).
Two other possibilities:
1. Aaron just voted the way he would have voted without the twist, regardless of the consequences. He does say things that make it seem that's how he was thinking.
2. He realised that he could ensure that Louise was up no matter what she did. ... I've been looking at the 2nd round nominations in another thread, and by the time Aaron nominated, Jay, Louise and Faye each had 2 votes, and Alex and Aaron had 1. If Aaron had nominated Alex and Tom, and Louise nominated Aaron and Tom, they'd all have 2 each. But that would have given Louise a lot of power, because she could have picked any two out of Jay, Faye and Alex to be up (by giving them their 3rd nomination).
